Is there a way to reduce the force feedback from the wheel? Also, is there a way to put the car from 1 to reverse without using any buttons but the paddle shift or the stick shift

Yes in the options menu you can change the strength of the ffb...

No i don't thinks so about the reverse...

spy.

Under the 'OPTIONS' menu you can adjust the strength of the Force Feedback.

Also, I changed REVERSE from the TRIANGLE button to the gear shift, you also do this in the Options menu for your wheel. It is in the controller options portion. You can change controls to whatever you want.

I agree with all the above but where you change it FFB is not obvious. It is in Options on the far left wheel regardless of what actual wheel you have.

yes far left is main steering settings for all wheels
the other tabs are button config menus for each wheel player 1 and 2

im going to buy a DFGT soon and i was wondering what kind of shifter it has. do u just push the shifter up/down to switch gears or?

Yeah just up and down to shift gears. It also has paddle shifters behind the wheel.

I just bought a Driving Force GT today, it works like a charm. It takes a lot to get used to, but right now I have the most ghetto setup going..

lol Gamuh I just got mine today too and am in the same boat. This is my first wheel so maybe this is just me, but do you guys notice the wheel moves on its own? That's damn annoying when your trying to do some smooth turning. Now maybe I'm mixing it up, but that auto moving of the wheel when your driving that isn't the force feedback is it? because I was under the impression the force feedback was just the resistance you feel from the cars tires on the wheel, or is the wheel moving on its own part of it registering the amount of resistance or what not. I.E. on rome reverse on the straight away by the start line, why oh why does the damn wheel slightly move back and forth, and make you control it, because if that is meant to be realistic, I am not sure on that, because I've driven even my car at high MPH and it stays perfectly straight doesn't waver slightly. It's just annoying me and sometimes causing me to spin out, but like I said maybe thats the learning curve I have to get over before I can truly enjoy the wheel! 1:23:xx for the time so far guys! I want to get to the 1:22:9x by end of event, not sure I can do much better, though I do have a wheel now!

Your problem is that you don't have the wheel in the deazone. If you come out of the corner, the wheels are still pointed that way, when you push back, it'll move slightly to the other side. Getting a sturdy stand helps curb this more.

And why are you taking your hands off the wheel? Try doing that in your real vehicle.

Me also mines hooked up to the front of an old school desk

I had the same problem when I first got the my DFGT. I never handled force feedback before, I even tried my friend's G27 before buying my wheel and it nearly took my hand off when I crashed.

When I started using my wheel and got into racing with it, I got a good feel and control of the wheel now. I even have it on 10 for Force Feedback.

Just have a firm grip on the wheel, in the open road while driving, you dont let go of the wheel ever or for a split second it can mean an accident for you.

I only took my hands off the one time and it started going crazy, I didn't realize how much more realism the wheel really added. It's also my first time using force feedback. I'm only 2 seconds slower on the wheel on rome reverse than my top time, so i'm getting used to it, but still have to get used to that force feedback, I actually kinda like it. I'm trying to figure out how to countersteer oversteer and understeer with the wheel. On the DS3 you just put the stick in the opposite direction, and I know you do that same thing on a real car, so I have been trying to do this on my Murceilago 864hp lol which is probably a bad test cuz its so damn powerful and fast, but its like the force feedback just gives out once you start to over/understeer and if you try to combat it by putting the wheel in one direction or the other, the wheel just moves freely and is driving me nuts, I'm sure its due to inexperience with the wheel, but I'm really trying to learn to use it, but if I can't even combat under/over steer I may be stuck using the DS3 for rest of the competition, and that is no fun. Also, the wheel sure does take alot of effort to keep it straight even on amateur. Luckily its on a nice sturdy table, and I actually have it setup pretty good, so it's definitely just me. Any tips on using this wheel to help counter steer would be appreciated. I hear the pros in the top 10 use simulation and FFB 5 with no power assisted steering.

Yeah, set it to simulation. In the novice setting it has some feature that tries to help you counter steer. I think it is more hurtful then helpful and makes the correct amount of counter steer difficult to determine. The damn wheel goes all 'Exorcist' on me when it tries to help. 👎

Setting it to simulation made it much more natural and helped me adjust to a wheel much faster.

 I bought mine 3 days ago and I believe I've pretty much got it down. Mine has a TV on one stool, a stool to the left and right, with the right one holding the PS3, and a computer desk with the wheel attached holding my speakers.

There is 25% less space in my room than before. :D

Does playing with a wheel drastically change the fun in the game? I'm pretty much at the endurance levels for both specs and haven't had a really great online experience so far. I kind of want a DFGT, but am afraid once I get one, I'll be bored of the game and not use it.
