After using the search function I found nothing about this. Seeing as how Namco is offering an Ace Combat 5: Unsung War, bundle: the literal game & a joystick/throttle, I thought I'd ask about this. The price of the bundle is $129.99, which is about what the joystick/throttle retails for.
I know GT4 will sell in droves, regardless if an offer like the one above exists or not, but I know Logitech would stand to benefit greatly. Being that the Driving Force Pro retails for $149.99. Not a price that your average gamer would spring for something so specific (driving games only).
In a local paper I've seen an ad by toys 'r us offering a steering wheel/floorpedal accessory for $10.00 if the person pre-orders GT4 @ $49.99 It made me wonder why something like this doesn't exist for Logitechs Signature steering wheel (made specifically for GT4). It would be a way to market a pricey product and sell them in droves. They could of course appeal further by offering a special/limited edition, version of the DFP.
Maybe they could offer it in 2 or 3 dual-color schemes: blue/white, red/white, green/white, etc... They could offer wheels, pedals, baseboard, shifter as interchangeable parts in the future. They could offer 2 or 3 different versions of these parts. Of course the architecture of the DFP would have to be modified. 1 item bought = several more via customizations = more money. Tap into a tuner-like market whereby people customize and individualize. They could then bundle coupons with the package for other logitech/sony items. In that way they could point a consumers eye in other areas of their business.

Sincerely,
