Hey all,

I was just wondering if any of you think the DFP is to stiff when turning? And No im not talking about the force feedback, i turn it completly off, i don't like it. Im just finding it hard to turn quickly, it feels like it might brake or something. Anyone else think it's a little too tight when turning? I notice that when i first turn my ps2 on, the wheel feels very free and rotates easily, but when it starts to boot up GT3 it goes all tight just after it calabirates itself and i really don't know if there is a problem. It's always been like this.

I wasn't sure if there is a dedicated forum for this, sorry if there is. :indiff:

Wrong wheel? Half the people on here praise this wheel and its specifically designed for GT, thats why there is a GT logo on it. I never heard of your wheel....any pics?

Try going into settings and turn vibration off maybe that would help or try select + R3 + left paddle Though I didn't notice any differenece, but maybe you will,

its switches force feeback to 100 percent.

the force feedback is set at 60% at default.

in order to make it so that it fights you less, go into the options menu in GT3 and select advanced difficulty. beginner trys to correct you, but it should be just fine if you drive right.

drifting is different, but it still isnt THAT stiff. you need to grow some muscles if you cant turn the wheel at all.

Yeah, but im not talking about the force feedback, i don't use it, i turn it off. Even if i turn force feedback off, the wheel still feels stiff. When you adjust that driving assistance thingie in options: (beginer, advanced pro) or whatever, i think that only works when you have force feedback on. If you dont use force feedback, like me, then changing those options will not make a difference i think.

I had my Force Feedback shut off in the options screen for a while last night to give my arms a rest, and it turns very easily...are you trying to turn from lock to lock super fast or something? If that's the case you might need to work on your driving skills a bit. ;) Smoother = FASTER:tup:

If the wheel is binding maybe try to unplug it or recalibrate it, etc. and make sure 900 degree mode is off. I use mine on the Simulation settion in the wheel options screen, maybe that will make a difference. Good luck.

P.S. you should give the Force Feedback more of a chance, it ROCKS!👍

Honestly, I like to know why you purchased a DFP if you turn the force feedback off?

You could have saved yourself a lot of money buying an older wheel of someone who has upgraded to the DFP....

i second that.

I was lucky enough to get the wheel for free k2racer. I like driving with no force feedback for 2 reasons.

1. Preserve the wheels life until GT4 comes out.
2. I don't find it fun. I prefer the wheel to turn nice and smooth. I switch it on from time to time for the hell of it. Plus i think this wheel craps all over most other wheels and not everyone would buy it just for it's strong force feedback. It looks good, it's comfortable, feels solid and unlike other wheels it dosn't feel like a plastic toy.

Fair enough!

I hope my DFP is not worn out by the time we have GT4 here in Pal region....I am however not going to reduce force feedback to have a better "wheellife".

Well you are covered by a 12 month warranty, so if it should fail, hopefully it will be before then. They feel solid, but i don't think they are all that robust and i don't know how they will last in the long run. A lot of people are compliaing they make funny noises after a while and they get loose the more you use it. Im really delicate with my one and sometimes i can still here a little clicking noise when i full lock to the left.

It's not normal then I play with the 900 degrees and I turn and the steering wheel return to the center automaticly when I release it ... !!! When your car are at a completly stop. I supposed then the GT3 is not compatible 100 % with the DFP but , I hope then the gt4 was most perfect.
Somebody can help me ?? or solving my problem... ?

To date, my only solution for the stiff control is to Disconnect my DPS from the 120 volt plug on the wall.. :indiff:

I have Logitech Driving Force Pro and it's perfect for GT 4 Prologue - (maybe even more better for GT 4, but I have to wait till 9 March)

On the other hand when I played GT3, I hardly stayed on track - forces felt so wrong and unnatural.

I found couple of solutions for that.
1) Adjusting steering assistance to more 'easier'
2) Or simply make some radical adjustments on car, due Dualshock pad reacts way different than wheel for game.

Hopefully that helps, at least it did for me.

Thanks buddy 👍 but disconnecting my steering was the best solution for me :)
