Got to be front engine rear wheel drive. No nasty snap oversteer (usually), no plough on understeer if you boot it and the abilty to steer with the throttle :D

Ditto Mr. Pushrod ;)

FR gives you more options and progressive handling than most MR or FF setups, IMHO. More fun as well :D

N1SMO

P.S. Mr. P: Where abouts in Suffolk are you? My dad lives near Newmarket....

No RR? Not that I particularly like the RUF's but I notice it's not there...

Gotta be MR. I don't experience this skittish behaviour or snappy oversteer some people mention. Good balance, quick turn-in... just look at the quickest normal cars in the game: GT-One, R390 & 787B all MR. ;)

N1SMO - mr_pushrod lives in a little pink house, down a dark little track in a big forest populated by wild beasties, pixies and serial child killing farm workers.

...might be thinking of Norfolk though, somewhere near Diss! :nervous:

I don't know that MR is my -favorite-, but all my favorite cars are MR. I like the way FR cars handle, but somehow they're not quite the performers that MR cars are.

~LoudMusic

Its a cross between FR and MR, in the end though i would have to go with the FR just for the fun you can have with them.

I tend to like MR cars.... I find they have more horsepower and rpms then a FR car would have. They can corner better too if you know how to drive them. :)

Odd, I usually see quite the opposite when looking at production models...

Im in love with FR. For the same reasons as have already been posted:) I had baaaaad experiences with MRs in GT2, I dont know if I will ever be able to go back :nervous:

4 wheels - 4WD - coincidence? I think not!!

And, with the ability to change how the drive is allocated between the front and rear, you can make it handle how you want.

Only way to get mass horsepower to the ground!

I do like MR in stock cars though, especially the NSX.

I would somewhat agree with LoudMusic, i don't know whether my favourite drivetype is MR, but certainly all my favourite cars are all MR.

MR definitely!! MR cars have the best weight distribution and there for are most maneauvrable 'aight?!

FR is good for hooliganism (tail-out action we all love!)
MR is good for light cars that can get their horsepower to the ground (but can be a bit understeery and a bit wild on the edge)
4WD is good for startline and slow-corner traction (but not terribly relevant on a race track)
FF is for girls. ( :D )

So why was 4WD banned from supertouring after the Audi benefits across the world, and why did the Nissan Skyline GT-R dominate to the extent of destroying Group A?

Well I think they have this new system that allows for the power to be distributed at different torque levels or powers if you will, its not a constant four wheel drive motion true all wheels move at the same time but at different speed specially in corners. I dont think GT put that into the physics of the game may be they did though because out of all the cars in the game that are four wheelers the impreza drives like the real one. Subaru has the four wheel system i discribed and if you get a chance to drive that and other cars with there own type of four wheel drives you can tell the difference right away.

Indeed - I run a six month old Subaru Liberty (Legacy) RX and the variable split 4wd is FANTASTIC - the nice touch is the car lets you have a little power oversteer before it reallocates the drive to stop the slip. It is also the best wet weather car I have ever driven - by a LONG way.

why u ask?,why because of the funness of the car.

vipers and corvettes are the funnest driving cars in the game :D

i got an idea for the worst weight transfer 😈 -my weird idea would be a mid engine, front wheel drive car.

definetly worst weight transfer :D

I like FR for the Mustang,
FF for the Integra Type R `98 Spec,
MR for the GT-One Road Car
RR for the RUF RGT,
and 4WD for the Tommi Kaira ZZII.

I've been spoilt by the ever so sweet handling of the R390 LM.I used the ZZII in the 4WD Challenge on the pro league,it took some getting used to its handling capabilities after using the R390.

How did you rate it in that series?

It totally wiped the floor with the opposition.
And before anyone says "Oh you shouldn't be using such a powerful car in that series BLAH BLAH BLAH" I was racing on the Pro league therfore i expect tough opposition from the AI cars, they just didn't provide it this time.....again. :p :D

They never do... THEY NEVER DO! :p

My previous post was an attempt at humour.....
I of course would never use a R390 LM race car in the Sunday Cup.I prefer using a Polyphony 001 F1 car :D
