So I usually don't drive the X1 much but I drove it for a few race car events I wanted to get over quick. I drove almost 50-60 laps on different tracks with the X1, immediately after I went on to race online with a road car and I couldn't drive at all and kept bumping into things. I thought this was temporary and would go away, but I still haven't fully recovered. I have lost driving skill after the X1. Any advice on how to get back to normal? :(

The best thing to do is probably work you way up the power ladder again?
Start with the 1-50 hp, 51-100, hp, 101-200 hp, 201-400 hp, 401-600 hp, 601-800hp then 801+... Spend about 2 hours solid with each class i guess.
Don't worry, all your skills will come back to you soon :)
Hope I helped

Do shuffle races online they are great fun too.

I hate the X1 because it has severe stearing lag.

It is a kind of mental poisoning... It's the same when you do a few laps with Racing Softs, after that you can't drive with sports. XD

Your skill will be back in a 90% aprox. Driving a X1 has some irreversible efects on your skill. XD

I have noticed this but only for like 5 minutes. But an x1 with 800 bhp 1/4 downforce and full weight ballast is actually a fun machine

I have NEVER driven the X1 on any track except Indy oval for this reason. X1 is strictly for Bob.

I'd imagine the same thing would happen in real life too. Taking turns at 250mph would at least surely screw your brain up when driving something like a Honda Civic or Mazda Miata.

I'd say just drive midpowered cars for a while until it all feels natural. That's what I did after I rode the X1.

I share mine online so that I can't drive it. I call it the X1 Syndrome. I went threw it when I first got an X1. Almost killed the game for me. But I powered threw and relearned to drive non-cheesy car again. But sadly the game was killed for 3 of my friends who got X1s and used it to get threw just about every Aspec event, but couldn't drive any car but the X1 after grinding to level 35 or so. Now I play by myself cruising around online doing SuperGT mainly.

This same thing happens to me after driving my F2007. Just don't do more than one race with it at once and you'll be okay.

Can anyone give a good description of this mental effect? I've never heard of it, and it's rather captivating. I'd like to learn more.

I never drive it. It's not realistic.

I'll second that. I just stick to the F1 cars for my speed fix. I don't even use the x1 anymore, makes me wonder why i even traded so many cars for the lot of different colors it came in..

Just drive a car you like for a few laps around your favourite track. It's an easy way to get rid of X2010-itus.

I actually endure the reverse of the described.

Even if I step up from F1 to X1, I feel incredibly off beat. And since I somehow finished 3 seconds ahead of the alleged winner (while reversing intentionally across the line) to finish second, I never raced the P.O.S. online again.

I don't have a grudge against the car, but I don't have an affinity for it either. Personally, it's overhyped, overused, and above all else, unforgivably grotesque. Flame me if you want, that's just my opinion.

If I were in charge of the operation, I wouldn't have but two-thirds of the horsepower, and maybe weigh it at 850 kg. Everything else, sans paint and/or Red Bull logos, will remain the same. I'll call it: The One Car That Has Any Integrity For Being Fast.

I never drive it. It's not realistic.

its not realistic because it doesnt exist?

Every facet of the X1 is completely possible and mechanically realistic.

Let me put it this way. If Formula 1 did not have open cockpit / open wheel regulations, and fans for downforce weren't banned from basically all road racing, F1 cars would essentially be X1's.

Its just goddamn hard to drive

Yes, the Formula One with 24 1500bhp race cars with fans to increase downforce driving 450 kmh down the straight at Monza would be completely responsible by the F1 direction 👍

If the X2010 existed it would be a time trial championship, it's too dangerous trying to overtake at those speeds, even if your name is Sebastian Vettel..

I find it worse driving a Fiat 500 and then the X2010, not the other way around...

You'll get back into it. It takes awhile to learn to drive the X1. Afterwards it takes a while to get out of that mode. Just like any other "car" switch. Gotta practice to get skilled at the new car.

AS mentioned it's a mental thing you are experiencing after having driven this fantasic sled... And yes it s a real car...

I have 6 of em I like this car obviously... There is a slightly higher learning curve in mastering this beast...

After doing 29 sec laps at Indy, nothing seems to match the performance of the Vettel.... $20,000,000 a pop was a bit over the top for this car or any of the cars in game, but what the fork...

With the latest seasonals the payouts are more in line with what many of the cars cost

I've driven a total of 60,000 miles with the Vettel, so IMHO it's the bomb..👍

I personally love it. It takes skill to drive around the tracks and not mess up. Sometimes I will get into a zone and it feels great, then other times I cannot complete 5 corners without messing up and I get pissed.
3 Vettels for me but I am still trying to gold all of the tracks. Only golded Monza so far. But this is with a DS3. Getting a wheel soon so hopefully things will change. 2 more to go.
Wish they would have some X1 races online like Ferrari's.

In Gt5, the X1 is just a f1 one car with it's physics tone down. It drives more like an arcade car. With ABS off you can get by braking hard in the corner. Also with ABS off brake bias setting does nothing. Set the brake front:0 back:10 brakes the same as F:10 B:0 or F:5 B:5.

Maybe realistic was the wrong word.

I should have just said. The main reason I don't drive it is because it is not fun to me. I don't like it. I just don't like trying to drive something that goes that fast.

Very upset they even included this car, they work toward realism with 1000 cars (which should be the case since its meant to be a simulator) then suddenly completely ruin the purity of the game and include a single fantasy car.

There should be a "THIS CAR IS NOT REAL ITS ONLY HERE FOR A JOKE" logo on top of the X1 at all times, otherwise people will think the rest of the game is a joke as well when its actually pretty decent.

I would say it's unrealistic because it's capable of generating more G than a human could withstand. Of course it's possible to build it, no aspect of its construction is unrealistic, but the lack of realism comes from the fact that it would be undrivable to the extent that we do in GT5. That said, a lot of concept cars in the game (and previous games in the series) never had engines installed, some didn't even have interiors, in fact there are probably a few that never made it past the drawing board. They did at least make a clay model of the X2010, though.

I personally never drive it because I find slower cars far more fun. In fact, no, it's not that I find slower cars more fun, I just find the X2010 incredibly boring. I get no satisfaction when I drive it, but if I manage to nail a lap of whatever track in the XJR9, or beat my highest drifting score in a car I've never driven before, or if I beat a lap time I set in a faster car with a more mundane one, that gives me a lot of satisfaction.

SkateNj
The human body can handle WAY, WAY, WAY MORE than the 8g that car can produce.

Sure it can. Briefly. Or while doing nothing else.
But over and over again while maintaining top concentration and with other 23 similar car racing you?
