With all the news of new release racing games lately I was just thinking how many are coming to console this year. I thought of these off the top of my head. I don't think there has a been a year with so many racing games coming to the consoles. I wonder how many will have the all important photomodes now they can (PS4 Pro)/will be able to (Scorpio) save 3840x2160px screen shots. :D

DiRT 4, NFS '17, Forza 7 and The Crew 2 are guaranteed purchases for me. For the rest, I'll wait on reviews, especially as GT Sport requires me to purchase a new console. I am loving the fact there is plenty of racing game out this year! :cool:
 
Nice to have a complete list like this.

I'm keen on WRC7, pcars2, gt sport and maybe dirt4 but that seems like a lot of racing so not sure I will get them all
 
I chose the right time to grab a PS4 as my secondary console for driving/racing games. :D

Count me in for Project CARS 2, Dirt 4, probably The Crew 2 if it has the right stuff...and maybe NFS2017 if the physics are something completely different from the last four NFS games and I'm in a masochistic mood. I have too much history with the franchise to avoid beating myself up with the newer iterations if they're tempting enough. :lol:

Gravel is a question mark because I like Milestone's ambitions, but the execution always leaves much to be desired. A sequel to Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo would be great news, but I worry Gravel has sidetracked that.

I think you are right about this sidetracking the Rally, as I think they said they were busy finishing this at the moment rather than a SLR sequel but now they have this new graphics engine you never know what they have planned..?


They are using the new Unreal Engine4 for this game too, so graphics wise it should be a step up with the dust and particles and the draw distance/lighting should be a big improvement over their previous games. Alpha feedback gameplay from team VVV below.

This is one game I think I will pick up as the physics in Milestone games have always been pretty good hidden away in their games and I do love off road racing/beaches/snow etc We need more arcade/sim games like this and DriveClub along with the more serious sims.

It's a bit of a cult favorite. I know there are some fans here -- I guess I should tag the members I most recently saw praising it (@zargdin @die996 @MeanElf).

I enjoyed it a fair bit; decent simulation-ish physics, a respectable vehicle list, and nice enough environments with the option to freely explore them (even in split screen with a friend!). What dragged it down was the rather dull career mode, and its worst mistake was forcing players to start off in the Baja Beetle class, by far the most difficult races in the whole game. It's a formidable barrier, but once you master the Beetle and move on, the difficulty curve drops like a rock.

No surprise that one of the features of the HD remake will be "an easier career start". :)

I don't have a good enough PC yet to run any better than the PS4 Pro so I'm not up to scratch on all the different PC racing games that keep coming and thought it all might get a bit complicated on the list:P.

If you have a confirmed list of the ones coming to PC I sure can add them underneath:tup:

One day I will look in to buying a decent up gradable PC and port over but I have too many consoles/games/accessories/VR now to backtrack this year.

I actually never played this, but because I have played an unholy amount of FUEL, I thought it looked interesting. Sorry for any confusion I might have caused there.

There's also going to be an Isle of Man game, although details of which are few and far between.
It's being developed by Kylotonn, the people behind the WRC games, Flatout and Motorcycle Club which has a score of 26% on metacritic and is probably a bit high from what I've seen and read about it.

I'd imagine anything that isn't exclusive will have a Steam release...and I can tell you that the Wreckfest beta/prerelease/wtf-ever-it-is-after-five-plus-years, GRIP, and Distance are all on Steam now. Distance was reviewed by Nerd³ last year I believe.
 
STAY AWAY FROM BAJA,,..... do not know who had the nerve going for a rerelease,. but this abomination is the worst "racing" game i ever played,.. and i played a lot of racing gamess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
