I drive barefoot for now. I'm about to get a G25 though so how much harder will it be to use the G25 pedals when barefoot?

Socks. I use two feet and have a DFGT, so no heel and toeing for me-not that my size 13 (US) feet will allow it anyway, even in a real car.

I have been know to race without pants, but that's a story for another time.

.

I have size 15 (US) and I don't have a problem heel-toeing with the G25 or real cars (most anyway).

A lot of smelly G25's on this forum with all those bare feet (or is it barefeet?) touching the padels. :yuck:

:p

I have the G25 and I use a nice lite weight pair of slippers with rubber bottom's. They are better then my puma's speed cat's because the bottom's arnt as thick. So puma speed cat's for real life car and slippers for sim cars.

I also wear an old pair of proto paintball glove's I have (washed of course) The only reason I wear them is so sweat doesnt get all over the wheel and shifter. But I did find it help for some reason cured my miss-shifting so IDK.

Hmmm, I've only owned Subarus since 1991, maybe it's just the pedal placement? The one I drive now is a slushbox (automatic) anyway.

I keep my foot to the right on the brake pedal and just roll my ankle towards the accelerator to blip the throttle. I guess that would be big toe-and-toeing?

And my feet don't smell!

The best thread out there.
Now the latest driving tip or aid is the foot wear or lack there of. PD are you listening/ watching?

Oh yeah: Socks and the Driving Force GT wheel.

gtplanet is #1

Barefooted or sock also.. but not on a G25 setup..

Note to self.. don't buy a used g25 kit.......

Just don't open the case up and you will never noticed all the foot dead skin shavings.

Just for the record, I do wear socks and gloves to use my G25, In case I have to sell it...LOL :dopey:

Just don't buy my chair........

LMAO. the hell does that mean? you don't wear pants when you play?

haha.

Vodaphone McLaren Pumas..>_>

Since when do Mclaren use Puma race wear? Soon you'll be able to wear your boy's Reeboks though.

Anyways, I just race with any pair of socks. I might try wearing double socks since that brake pedal really digs into my foot after heel and toeing too much.

I use Vox Flip-Up Motorcycle Helmet, Fly Racing Lite Race Gloves, Adidas Mat Hog Shoes  The shoes are light-weight wrestling shoes with mesh uppers and a thin rubber sole. The gloves are also light and breathe easily, so no sweaty palms. The helmet is too much, but had to do it.

pumas here for G25 metal pedals. Very lightweight, comfy and easy to heel-toe thanks to its sole design.

Haven't raced in socks since I finished GT4 and sold DFP out.

I use my Oakley racing shoes in both the game and when I really drive. I can't stand driving with bare feet or socks, it just feels wrong.

Oh! @ superwally: I've heard a bunch of people complaining about Subarus being hard to heel-toe. The soft brake pedal is more the issue than the shoe size, I think. (At least it does make things a bit inconsistent-feeling for me in mine)

Don't do heel and toe but i did have a great pair of driving shoes for the G25.
There them slip on things which have a very thin rubber sole ( beach, diving and have bright colours too ) Diving not Driving ! great pedal feel but i had to bin mine because they got to smelly :yuck: The likes of Asda for £3.00 so there throw aways :sly:

Can't believe i replied to this thread :dunce: Slippers do the job now.

I use driving socks too, otherwise my feet stick to the pedals and I can't use the pedals properly.

With all of my previous wheels with plastic pedals, I used to race either bare foot or with socks, just found it uncomfortable with shoes on. Yet since i got my G25, i always race with shoes on & socks or bare feet feel wrong. With shoes on i just feel like i have better control over the pedals.

Let me clarify, my socks have rubberesque bottoms. I highly recommend other people buying them, as they are extremely comfortable even when not racing.
Where to buy!? I don't have a wheel yet, but it may be good to know by the time I get one. :dopey:

Check out my sig to see I use some nice narrow bowling shoes. The added control and NO friction at the top along with lots of traction at the heels provides so much. Plus my feet don't get cold like they do with socks :)

No gloves because the DFGT has a rubber grip and my hands don't get clammy enough to warrant more grip. I usually either go barefoot or wear my shoes since I don't have any grippy socks.

Had been using a DFP since start of GT4, and was bare-footed (the plastic pedals were easy on the feet).

Recently upgraded to the G25, and felt the need for shoes (heel toeing, more force, metal pedals, etc.). I had these as casuals, but now dedicated GT5-P shoes :D

Then bought a pair of these for casual wear, just because :p

Everybody knows red shoes make you drive faster hehe

I've always just worn socks. The G25 is the only wheel I've tried that even allows for comfortable driving with shoes. The DFP's pedals were too flimsy.
