Hah. Not beaches dude. I live 2 hs from the beach.

My mom says she'll take me out to a big parking lot sometime and lemme drive. She was all "You're ready to drive." im like "Why you say that?" shes like "Because you are."

My mistake, guess i'm used to living 20-30 minutes to the nearest beach.. :O

Anyway, have fun and uh...good luck?

I'm always miffed by the fact that there are parking lots for the beach, but I've never been able to put my finger on why.

It's so the people who live far and have to drive there can park.

I think the reason I dislike the idea is that you have something as vast and as great as the beach where there are miles upon miles of coastline and yet there's a parking lot for it. The beach is almost a non-concrete thing, since there's so much of it. Yet there's still a parking lot. It strikes me as totally odd.

The next time I go to a beach, I'll use street parking, thank you very much!

you're a weirdo. beaches are a popular attraction, and therefore need parking lots.

anyway, i've driven my dad's buddy's cutlass a few times, including driving them over to the beer store. lol.

driving is fun, i know how to drive, and i'm not much of a speed demon. i do well. i've read the driving instruction books, and i've driven ATVs and dirt bikes for years. cars aren't hard at all. just because a person has a license doesn't mean they know how to drive.

My old man let me drive at 14. A few months of backing out of the driveway. Then, down to the corner. Then a right turn and a left.
By the time I got my permit at 15 If I didn't get to the car first I ended up driving. My father had an unpaid chauffer until I got my license..
I loved to drive until I became a pizza delivery dude.
People act foolish if you are out there in a car with a
"rob me"... I mean Pizza Hut sign on your car.

Woodstock was fairly popular, and it had no parking lots. Why can't you just have people park on the damn beach, like in Mexico?

ok, you've mentioned mexicans and hippies, give an actual reason why beaches shouldn't have parking lots.

park on the beach? what about getting stuck in the sand?

Do you have any idea how hard cars are on dune structures?

Have you ever been to a beach? The sand closer to the land is densely packed - you can't get stuck in it. Most of it blows into the damn parking lots anyway.
