Power additions.

Opel/Vauxhall Astra - Remain stock - 453Bhp/1000Kg.
Audi A4 - +1 Power/-7 Weight - 458Bhp/1004Kg.
Audi TT - -1 Power/-7 Weight - 459Bhp/1004Kg.

Championship News.

Ballstothewall takes his first pole position and first victory both at round 4, this gives his team a huge boost in the series, moving him up to third in the drivers championship. DUNDA has been disqualified from the series after failing to submit his times without reason four times in a row, his team, Mercedes CLK seem very unlikley to win the series now with only 1 driver, and no time submissions.

First I must appologise to all! Especially George and Drew!

How spaced out on painkillers am I?

Spaced out enough to race at the wrong bloody track, that's how much!

You must DQ my times from round 4 George, I raced at midfield as in round 3, not Autumn Ring mini.:dunce:

As soon as I saw the results, I know something was wrong! Spidey sense was set a tingling!

Again sorry guys!:guilty:

Walks away, hanging his head in shame............

Neil

Aww Neil you idiot, that means the Astras win again .

Oh well, I hope you know round 5 is APRICOT HILL not Midfield or Autumn Ring or Deep Forest .

That means I'll have to redo all the tables aswell :(.

You did better then me Neil, the only race I did this week was in RL, a 5.0 Mustang rolled up on my Chevelle...the light changed and thru the smoke In the rearview I saw the 5.0 ashamed and bruised!!! Sorry for no submission this week, I've been crazy busy trying to get my business back up and running after a major lightning strike. Took out my phone system, fax, one computer and a HP laserjet PS printer that cost me $5000.00. Just got back up about an hour ago with all new eguipment, insurance paid for all but my $100.00 deductable. I can now get back to the fun things in life!!!
George , thanks for the adjustments, I now have a renewed interest in the series.

Hey, sh;t happens!

But if you inject my time into last weeks results........they are predictable!

Honesty is always the best policy, so I have no problem with admitting my mistake.
Just wish everyone felt the same way!

Anyway,
Apricot Hill is one of my favorite (if not fastest) tracks, so this week will be fun! I just hope that the -1% HP and -7% weight will make a difference to the results.

Laters Dudes

Neil

I tried the new setup Neil and honestly couldn't tell any difference. I'll do some more testing before I make a decision one way or the other.

The TT weights 4kg more than the Astra but with more horsepower, so they should feel similar now :(.

as my down under friend said, stuff happens :)
silly twit :dopey:

as for the changes, there are a few of us on the edge about the parity issue, myself included. I'll trust the testing that is to be done, listen to their input and make a choice then. I'm not thrilled at being over a second a lap slower from the get go, never mind with a quicker driver in a faster car.... if I wanted frustration, I'd get married again :(

haven't driven apricot hill, that I can remember, so there won't be any dazzles from me this week.

on a point note... the other day I check and had 3 points, in this post I have 1 :9 ... I lost 2 points how ? and why wasn't there an explaination sent ?

grumble
J.R.

Oldphart, with the recent adjustments made to the cars the Audi A4 IMO is now the fastest car on the grid!

George, would it be ok if I changed to one of the CLKs?

I have done some testing with the new settings, and I have to say that the TT is now 'closer' to the Astra's.

Now only 0.4 -0.5 seconds a lap slower round Apricot Hill.
Some parts of the track the TT is quicker, and others the Astras are.

Most of that is down to the AWD of the TT, and the natural power-understeer induced in all AWD/4x4 cars, which obviously isn't present in FR cars.

The basic acceleration and speed of the cars is now pretty much similar, now it's down to the corners and how the cars behave differently (especially on the exits of corners)

As 'we' picked the TT in the first place, I suppose we will have to put up with it.
I think it is now easier to say that the TT 'may' be competative on some tracks now.
'Nature of the beast' so to speak!

Neil

George, would it be ok if I changed to one of the CLKs?

You need a good reason.

Oldphart, sorry if you lost points, I'll check again because I think you have 3 not 1, it's all the changing with the tables I had to do.

Edit, Oldphart, you have four points, I changed it, sorry.

Hey George, it might be a good idea to start advertising in the Sign Up thread that there are a few open spots in the series for some new drivers to join as both you and I need team mates and we also need some CLK drivers aswell 👍

Gave the race a couple tries today, this track is even harder on tyres than Autumn Ring, i'm only just managing to 1 stop on Medium tyres, luckily the race is only 10 laps and not 11 or i'd have had to do it on Hards.

Times sent in!

And yes (before anyone asks) I did it round Apricot Hill! :)

Let's see how the mods and a new tyre strategy pans out!

Neil

George, I sent my times in yesterday (9-13) hope ya got them!

Well , there we go!

GTXDriver takes pole, TS wins, and Drew22 gets his first podium!

A very close race, especilly from 3rd downwards.

Something doesn't make sense. TS runs 6 seconds slower then pole in quali, then runs 1.8 seconds a lap faster then his quali time in the main race.If he ran at his quali speed without a pit he would have a 13'15 for the main race. And that's not even taking a pit into consideration. Am I missing something???

I'm not an expert at this, so I don't know if his pit stops made a diffrence.

TS's pitting:

Race Start - Racing Hards.
Pits and replaces front tires only for Racing Super Softs, he may change rear tires to new racing hards but I don't knwo.

No George those times I pointed would be if he made NO pit stop. If he made a pit he would have had to run about 5 seconds a lap faster then his quali!!

Neil, do your calculations on this would ya?

^ Yep, come on Neil, what d' you have this time to tell us?

first off - to my p - sorry :(

G** Damit !
The days have been a blur lately with work. I thought I had until Saturday :ouch: Here I am still trying to get my times down, as I had one in the bank already.... Qual of 1:15.146 and a race of 13.586

Partner ? I promise to make the notation in my calendar as to when the race is due from now on :ouch: just pisses me off to no end ....grrrrr..never mind the time zone thing :(

Ok!

I have done some statistical analysis on the race results and will lay them out as best I can, and explain them as best I can.

1st - In any stat analysis you ALWAYS ignore the top and bottom results, so I took an everage of the race times of myself,Drew,George and GTX (ignoring TS and Racefan's times)

2nd - The mandatory pit-stop take 34 seconds from the moment the pit board comes up, to the time the START signal comes up. The time was the same for 4 wheel change V's 2 wheel change (no fuel taken on)

3rd - The average time dropped in a start lap is 5 seconds, and the average time dropped in an out lap is also 5 seconds.

The average race time was 13'18.026 for ten laps round Apricot Hill.

OK!
Average results

total time = 13'18.026
Pitstop time =34.000
StL + Out L = 10.000

Total-pitstop-(StL+OutL) = 12'34.026
Average lap time (excluding StL & OutL times) = 1'15.403

TS's results

Total time = 12'56.119
Pitstop time = 34.000
StL + Out L = 10.000

Total-pitstop-(StL+OutL) = 12'12.119
Average lap time (excluding StL & OutL times) = 1'13.212

I have also done some (5 each) hot-laps round the course on the different tyre compounds with all the same settings.
-1 power, -7 weight, top speed @ 300Kmh

RH/RH = 1'17.267
RM/RM = 1'15.175
RS/RS = 1'14.297
RSS/RSS = 1'12.690

Now, it is completely obvious that something is wrong here yet again!

TS (through George) states that he ran RH/RH's, pitted (changing the fronts to RSS's(sorry got that bit wrong when I said 'fresh Rh's)) and then finished the race.

Now I know that I am not the fastest guy on GTP (nowhere near in-fact, about average I suppose), but there is no way that I can get a 1'13.2 lap time out of racing Hard's, and I defy ANYONE (even Holl01 or Hotboi) to do so consistantly over 10 laps AND keep it squeaky clean too!

Also IF TS qualified on RSS tyres like everyone else and performed (yet again) at 5.923 s slower than pole, and 4.488 s slower than the average quali time, HOW is he going 4.3 seconds FASTER on HARDS than he can do in qualifying?

Neil

Thanks, Neil, maybe we should get holl in to do a few laps since he's super fast.

I don't know what to do, this is the second time this has happend, TS has qualified last by a long shot in 4 or 5 of the races, to end up coming in the top 4, or maybe even top 3.

What do you lot think I should do?
