Dual Shock 3 (DS3) SLS AMG Event

Hello everyone.
I know there is a thread for the SLS event but i just wanted to construct this one to see what setups and times people have been doing on Dual Shock 3 Controllers on the SLS AMG event.
NOTE: please do not talk about steering wheels as players with them have enough advantage over us as it is.
 
I have my TCS at 1
ABS on 1
active steering on strong
cant get any better then a 1:18:013
 
my settings were TCS 3, ABS 1 and all others off. I used analog stick and best time was 1'17.786.

Everything else was off and sensitivity at default...

I got 1.17.700

PS: I used the over the hood camera, It helped me a lot on the slow curves.
 
Having trouble with this one, can't get Gold!
 
yeah i can only manage to get 1:19.227. thought i would be a bit better at this track but oh well. i'll get gold eventually. i know i can do about .800 faster just a matter of getting a clean lap
 
lol, I gave up due to not being able to do a single clean lap. It was just too infuriating to have to constantly restart. I think it's dumb to compare times against DC when he has performance tires on his car and we are all stuck with pos comfort softs.
 
If he was running the standard SLS tyres then the equivalent GT5 tyres would be comfort soft. :-)
Best I've managed is 1:19:3XX. Struggle town. Lol. ;-)
 
it would be nice to have seperate leaderboards for the DS3 players. Struggletown population: pretty much everyone on the DS3 :-)

To be fair, you're more likely to push harder and take bigger risks in a game than IRL. Also, you're going to have way more attempts. So I disagree with your contention completely.

Camera at the front of the car.
Have done it quite a few times now and get frustrated every time. So much understeer in that car...
But I'll keep trying, it must be possible to do a serie of clean laps.

Tcs and abs 1 everything else off.
I've done a 1.17.7 ish. Think I could probably knock .25-.5 off of that with a clean lap.
If your struggling to get gold, try downloading one of the top ten ghost laps and follow their lines. I did it before all the cheats started cutting corners and the only places I lost any time was with traction coming out of corners

Clean lap is the key, I think 1.15 may be possible with the Dual Shock.

I want to beat Coulthard's 1:16.32 but can only get within a tenth.
Gave up after two days as I found all the top guys were cutting corners etc.. shame really....👎

Wow really! with a steering wheel! i never knew it could be done. I put this thread for people who don't have a steering wheel and are stuck with DS3. learn to read in the future
 
My Best Lap DS3 : 1'14.865

Manual
TC= 3
AS= Strong
ABS= 1
Sensitivity= 7

One of my laps was able to reduce it down by around a second until it penalized me on Follow-Through :grumpy:
 
Managed a 17.3 with th DS3 all assists off, manual gears. Hammerhead is horrible, I you can sort it you will do a good time.

I tried with different aids and this strange set worked for my 1:17:7xxx

You are also going to have a much better feel for the car in real life and be able to do something about it. In the game, the car is too erratic. Just look at the first corner. If you brake a tad late, the car goes flying off the track with no steering at all. If you brake a tad early, you end up going through at a speed that a k-cup car could go through it at. I severely doubt that Mercedes would agree to allow it look like its car is completely uncontrollable at a moderate clip and can't corner or maintain any grip on the road surface.
 
I used TCS 1, everything else off, sensitivity 2 and managed 1:17:7xx. This car is not very easy to drive. But I think I may be able to improve the time, I'm just going to wait until they reset the event.
 
My sensitivity is on 7, it's so twitchy, but fits my style.

twice took a 1:15.9(something) but invalidated my lap due to being over-excited on the last corner :drool:

That's what i was saying. That car has what 19' wheels maybe 18', that should be Sports Hard or Med at least.

In the special events this car sticks to the raod like glue. You can rip around the ring and it's alot of fun!
 
TCS 1, ABS 1, all other aids off. Manual gears. Got a 1:16.4xx before the leaderboards got reset. Clean lap obviously. :)
 
TC 1 and ABS 1 all the rest of, but only gets bronze, don't remember the time :sick:
I really go crazy from the time on I try to get a clean lap. unmanagable car I think but as I see the times here, I must be doing something wrong..;
