Dualshock 2 car control tip(?) that helps you in turning while drifting

I just thought of something here, not sure if it's an original:

For all you Dualshock 2 drifters, has anyone realized that pushing the left stick forward does not affect the speed? So, if you were to push the stick foreward against the controller, you could control the turning of the wheel more precisely because the housing of the controller stick would serve as an opposing force (...?).

And we all know that to pull off a nice drift, you need fine turning control.

DS2 Drifters

I think thats exactly what he's saying. I started doin this a while back when I noticed my drifts were two snappy coming out of the drift. This also helps control over steer and spin outs when exiting.
