Dualshock 3

I've played with a Dualshock 3 and basically there wasn't a whole lot of difference. The only notable change is that it's heavier and has the classic 'shaking' technology. (you should know what I mean by 'shaking'- eg if you hit an object it shakes) I haven't actually played it with Prologue but there's not a lot of notable changes.

Does anyone have one, is it any good for GT5?
I suggest it to you if you're not a wheel driver.

I imported one time ago from Asia (Ceramic White one), and for example for my case (I'm not a wheel driver.. yet !) it's usefull because now I've a bit more of feedback of each turn or hit, so the driving is a bit more real and gives you a bit more of pleasure each time you can feel the wheels over some part of the road like the red & white rubber things on the sides of the road (I don't remember it's name on english). Anyway, the rumble motors are not so strong like were on the DUAL SHOCK & DUAL SHOCK 2, but they've now more fidelity at least, more different kinds of rumble.

I've used it only with GRAN TURISMO 5 PROLOGUE & METAL GEAR SOLID 4: GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS.

I was also using a DS3 for a while with GT5P, like Aero-R has already said it is no different other than having the Rumble and being heavier. I got mine for Drakes fortune and it was great in that game. 👍

Rumble strip.

I have the dualshock 3 but I can't drive with it, I have been using a wheel since GT4. It is just a bit heavier than the regular controller, but I don't notice it.

The weight makes it a bit more user friendly, and the sticks seem to have a bit more resistance than the sixaxis. Also the dead zone on the sticks doesn't seem as large as on the sixaxis, used to find it murder trying to play before, almost as bad as using the d-pad. The rumble generators are as strong as on the wired PS2 ones, just that for some reason PD don't have the effect turned up as much as on GT4. Try it with GT4 and you'll be hard pushed to find a difference.

AS has been said before-no true major difference, except for a little more feedback and a little more weight. And rumble strip definition. That's epic.

Bought mine just for GT5P:tup: Couldn't think of playing a GT game without one.:)

The only thing i don't like is that, if you have your steering wheel plugged in, the dualshock doesn't shake any more.
Would be fun to attach it to the chair or to the paddles for extra realism :)

Didn't even realise the DS3 was out, so I might consider getting one now seeing as I don't have a wheel.

I havent tryied my DS3 on GT5 but I must agree with GTA4 the rumble does fell pretty weak, although when lightning stuck I did feel quite a large jerk in the rumble, so it does have some strength when they want it too. Probably to conserve batterys.
