I wanted to know if there r drivers out here who r very good wit their dual shock controllers, and not steering wheels ? if someones is to be a pro driver in GT3, is racing wheel a must for every pro gt3 driver ? just wondering..

and how often do u play GT3 these days ? ....

The fast drivers are fast no matter what control method they use. Wheel, DS2, DS1, whatever.

And the words you are looking for are "are" and "you." You're not on a phone now. You've got a keyboard with over a hundred keys on it, use them.

right daan. thanks for the info.... i just wanted to know if GT3 could be mastered wit the dual shock controller..... but im sure the racing wheels are much better.. u explained it well, a fast driver is fast whether its a wheel, dual shock, etc...... good point :)... anyone like to add up ?

musroc, welcome to GTPlanet! Have a good time here, and please do your best to follow these rules from the Terms Of Service:
  • No slang words that promote laziness, ie; "r", "u", "plz", etc.
  • Half decent grammar is expected. Use of capital letters starting sentences is looked upon favorably. Spelling half decently is also encouraged.
One thing I've found in a few years in the community is that the person is the most important factor in being quick, not the controller. There are very fast people who swear by every method: wheel and pedals, dual sticks, D-pad and buttons, automatic or manual trans, TCS on/off, etc.

So really, what is most comfortable. I enjoy drivinbg with a wheel, but I'm faster with the dual analog sticks by far. Once I get my wheel set up in a decent spot, that may change... or not.

I was faster with my MOMO than with my DS2 not long after I got the wheel. It helped that I could use manual transmission with the wheel, whereas with the DS2 I was using auto (couldn't manipulate my fingers to do everything.)

The advantage the DS2 has is that it can go from lock to lock quicker than the wheel. The wheel is a lot more natural and I'm a lot smooother with it.

I would love to try out a wheel, but I doubt I'll ever have a setup like some that I've seen. I believe that I would be faster with a wheel. I'm always 2 - 3 seconds behind the fastest in compititions, sometimes more, sometimes less. I think a wheel would make more competitive.

I hated the wheel and before PS2, and A-Spec I used the Namco controller that twisted in the middle for turnning and two long buttons on the pad that were analog, (the further down you push the more gas/ brake). I modified the right stick on my controller with little balsa sticks so it only goes up and down. I'm damned good with this controller.

I've always been ot poor to get a wheel so...not to brag or anything, im above average using DS2, no-one i know can beat me so far.

Sounds like you both ought to head on over to the GTP Weekly Series and see how you stack up against some known fast drivers. It can be a humbling experience.

I am very very good with a Dual Shock 2 controller..My name isn't just my name,it is what i am.Dutch Gran Turismo 3 Champion.

I have the Driving Force Pro, but I'm going through the game first with a DS2. I just feel like I want to get to know the game first, then go through again with the wheel and the knowledge of how to drive. I started with the DFP when I got it, but I didn't know how to drive in the game that well. I asked this same question when I got GT3 and everyone said it was easier with the DS2. So
I started with the DS2 and found it to be much easier, like they said.

I wonder... Do you know Arwin, Edmar Jaegar, Hugo Boss or Made In Holland at all?

They are who I think of when the phrase "Dutch GT Champion" crops up. And none of them have ever said it themselves - they've earned it.

Well, they may be GT2 or GT champions but i am the GT3 champion. The trophy is right here on my table. But there is no need to continue this,i never asked anyone to belive me.I will prove it when the time comes.

No - they play GT3. Hence my mentioning them in this, the GT3 forum.

They prove it week-in, week-out. Visit the Weekly Race Forum to see (it's in Online Racing/Official GTP Competitions).

So who gave you this trophy?

You will find that talk is cheap at GTP. I, personally, don't believe you, and I doubt anyone will based solely on the word of a n00b with 11 posts. Let's see the proof. The time has come.

You know GTchamp, you've been owned because these guys Famine said are all top level playes in the world let alone in Holland and yet I've not heared of you before. Can you post a pic of your trophy and maybe we'll cut you a little slack. But don't show up heer and start claiming your this, that and the other without proof because it gets you started on the wrong foot.

No need to post picture of the trophy. If he's interested in proving it, he'll go to the weekly series. If he's not, he won't, and we'll all forget him.

No need to get into a urination match yet.

I got a trophy for bowling once. My winning score was 173. Nothing was written on it.

Hey, I must be tenpin bowling champ of the UK.

Urination match  . I love that, not as good as "he looked at me like I wen't into her house on christmas day and pissed on her kids" though. But if he enters the weekley race series and gets shown up by the likes of Mr P he'll end up "shaking like a ****ting dog", and if you know where they're from yes I've watched it today. For the 4th time.

I made my own controls the right analog up is up shift ,down is down shift, accelaration is R2 Brake is L2 E-Brake is R1 Reverse is L1 and i use the left analog to steer i made these a couple of months ago and all my friends are like what the.... whats with your controls except one friend of mine who is a other gran turismo fan got to like my controls and now every1 likes them where i live and we can go real fast with them:)

Well then,u are on.And btw i won the trophy at the Amsterdam AutoRAI 2003, and with my victory i got to go to the F1 GP in Barcelona.I will go register or whatever i have to do to race.

Registration race: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/t-39439.html

Send your time via PM to GoKents. He will assign your division based on that time. You may then participate in the weekly races. This week's race, race 59, is a little complex to start now and get a time in within the next 3 days though.
