Is Dualshock 3 supposed to come out in NA? And if so, will it come in the $299 Ceramic White PS3? Because I called Gamestop late last year and asked and they said that it wasn't announced in NA just yet.

Thanks.

As far as people on the PS forums have said, it works perfect with NSTC-NA models, but only PS3 games that support rumble work (Motorstorm, etc.), so if you have a game that doesn't support rumble yet, they might release a patch for tat game.

@Picc84 - Ahhh... I'm not certain you're quite understanding the topic here.

So I should probably relay my playasia experience. I decided I needed a DS3 for the holidays and ordered one from playasia. Long story short the controller I received quickly proved itself to be defective. And although playasia was professional regarding the return and exchange, they were not exactly concerned about handling things in a timely and customer care free manner. 1 I had to overnight the controller back to Hong Kong, they did not have a NA location that could process a defective return. Fortunately this "only" cost me $15 or so. 2 - they stated they needed to verify the defect and that this process could take up to 14 days. 3 - after returning the controller I didn't hear a single word from them for 2 weeks regarding the return (not that they received the product, not that the product was in testing, not that the product was tested with x result, not that the replacement will ship on y date... nothing). I had to contact them for status before I heard anything. 4 - after verifying the defect they stated I could only be reimbursed for the shipping with store credit. I attempted to explain to them that store credit for this site is not very useful to me, but they would not budge. 5 - I received an email stating that the replacement was sent on 1/11, however in checking the tracking number day by day the USPS did not verify receipt for shipment until 1/15. In total it took at least 30 days to process the return and replacement.

I will freely admit that they did follow through on all their promises, they just took their sweet time in doing so. Maybe mine was a unique case, but I don't have a great taste in my mouth after the experience.

that was sad.I havent returned things that I bought from internet for replacement. But I know its a hard way just like in your case.

The standard PS3 controller is the SIXAXIS. It has no rumble, but gyroscopic tilt functions.

The upcoming standard PS3 controller will be the DualShock 3. It has rumble AND gyroscopic tilt functions.

The DS3 wasn't released until 8 months after the PS3 was. Currently it's not available anywhere but Japan.

Wow...you truly are unlucky..my aunt, who's into gaming has bought many things from play asia including hardware like the psp camera and has never experienced a problem like yours...

i wouldn't say not to order anything from playasia but it is incredibly reliable.
