Viperman, Far be it from me to diss your dad,
I was funnin' you on grammar and such.
When My father was alive, He was fast.
He also tended to be fast in cars that looked slow.
We were once on the road to Salinas, CA to return a dishwasher to Sears. My dad was driving a '70 Ford wagon with a 429 SCJ under the hood.
My best friend was waxing on about how lame Fords are, When a hot-rodded 1957-58 Chevy Truck pulls up beside us at the light.
I could hear the "rummp-rump" idle, amd thought to myself "uh-oh". Then Chevy guy did the unthinkable. HE revved on my pop.
Pop looked at me and grinned. I grabbed onto something and leaned back in the seat.
The light went Green and my pop stuck his foot to the Floor and Opened up that big Holley 1050 Carb, and made that Chevy a distant memory.
The dishwasher slid back to the tailgate, My bud was thrown back into his seat, and he learned not to diss Fords while my pop was driving.
Moral of Story: Small block Chevs get their a** kicked by big block Fords.
