Duplicating cars with backup game data?

lol, you're still missing the point...people will trade an X1 to get the Corvette Race Car because they like it and they will still have their X1...that's the point, the value of a hard to get car is 0 now...simple Business 101 - Supply vs Demand and the supply just became unlimited...so values will drop.
I don't get it. Nothing has gone down in value as far as I'm concerned. How difficult it is to get something doesn't change how desirable it is.

and there is no risk to trading anymore...

Which is good

Am I the only one who won't use the exploit but still thinks it's a good thing? Everyone plays games differently, we all prefer different aspects of the game, and let's face it... some people flat out suck. If things like this open up GT to more people and it helps spread the word then so be it. You guys can do what you like with the game you paid for, treat yourselves :)

So you copy the one on your main account with a usb drive or external HD... then what? How can you have 2 identical games on the same account?

OK, perfect example of deminished value...prior to the patch I was grinding to get 4.9 million for an FGT...because of the patch I won't be paying 4.9 million...I'll get it free. 4.9 million to 0 is a decline in value...lol.

But you would gain whatever I trade with you.

This exploit doesn't change the fact that I don't have an Oreca Viper, and it doesn't change that I'm willing to trade for it.

I have the #91 Oreca Viper. I'm a diehard Mopar guy so it's my mission to own at least two (One stock and one mod) of every Mopar in this game.

What's the difference between the #91 Viper and the #51 Viper? I haven't seen the #51 yet.

I'll never exploit it and I'll never exploit the birthday gift, either.

The only thing that those who do exploit these things will accomplish is that they'll eventually ruin it for everyone. They could do away with future data saves, screwing anyone that has a PS3 that decides to go belly up.

For someone that is supposed to be SO against this, you sure are taking advantage of it

I myself couldn't really care less what you or anyone else does. I know if one of my actual friends asked me to duplicate the FGT or another car I paid a lot for in the game, I'd tell them they better get to work, just like I did..... haha

What they should have done is have an online/offline version of the game...like Call of Duty. Your garage should have been online...like your weapon unlocks and such on CoD.

funny but true

Then why has it never happened to me? It's funny because it's so obviously wrong.

And to all those saying trading is dead, I'm still looking for that Viper, among other cars.

I don't know. In GT3, they only differed visually. I'd assume the same in GT5.

how long does it take to actually do this? just curious.

What I did was:

1.Create new PS3 and PSN account
2. I bought two Karts
3. Exited Kart save, and then saved the file to USB drive
4. Loaded Kart save on PS3, then traded 1 Kart with someone.
5. I checked to see if they got the Kart, they did.
6. Deleted Kart save on PS3.
7. Copied USB back up onto the PS3 in the same account where it came from
8. Loaded game like normal
9. I still had two Karts.

Yea, I'm against it as it just broke the online trading...but the horse is already out of the barn...no point in closing the door now.

So if my PS3 isn't connected to the net, or my ISP goes down for the day.. I can't play GT5? Bad idea.👎

Why buy or earn that Viper you want? too hard for you? are you rubbish at this game?

Grow up people!

Honestly, the point of this game is DRIVNG!! Driving the cars you like, and share that passion with others who feel the same! The other aspect of the game is collecting the cars you enjoy.

I don't want to get into this whole "I am busy" thing because everyone is busy in their own ways. It just depends on how you want to spend your personal time and what not.

In all honestly, I think people that dislike the birthday "cheat" or this "cheat" feel cheated or threaten, as they have worked "hard" for their cars, and that others are able to obtain theirs by other means. Before all these "glitches", they were able to belittle others or brag about how hard they "grinded" for X car, but now, they don't have the luxury to do so.

I believe this will actually HELP the community, as this will help each other obtain their favorite rides. Forgot this whole value thing as it was pretty skewed in the first place! (Chrome paint for a $20M car? Really?) Value is just an opinion, and if you feel like you "deserve" more for your X car than others, then go find that sucker.

I know I have no right to make judgement on others, especially since this is my "first" post. But just one last question for those who DISLIKE the idea of this "cheat" or others: Would you NOT buy this game IF the game came with all the cars in the garage already?

If you say yes, you need help! Because I think you are missing the point of the game. However, if you would still buy it, then what's the difference as you are driving the car you like, and others can do the same!

once you start cheating. You'll play the game exponetially less. Its life span drops considerably.

If by "play" you mean run the same boring oval race over and over and over just to make enough money to buy a car I want, I'll gladly "cheat". It's a freakin game, and how many cars I have has NO effect on you, so I'm just "cheating" myself. I apologize to myself... I forgive myself... Done.

And now that I can get exp for playing online I don't have to "play" that same damn oval race 50 times to advance a level.

And just like Prologue, we'll all have more money than we can spend now that online events give money. So the car "cheat" is even less meaningful.

I'm calling it a win on both counts.

It takes longer. I'm not going to sit there waiting for it to show up (well, I actually have been while looking for a trade. Still haven't seen it. I'm at the proper level and have more than enough money).

Also, buying a car in this game says nothing of skill. The skill is in driving.

Back to the debate. Let's see how dead trading is. Go to the market place and trade. It will surely die if you don't do that.

Look at how many X1 trades are already listed...deminished value.

That's all my point was, the "patch" broke the trading...however, some people welcome the ability to use any car they want without having to grind.

pros and cons...depends on which side of the fence you're on

All I've seen in this forum from the day it was released is people moaning.
So here's my little moan...

Some people here seem to have trouble grasping the fact that
to copy a car you have to own it first.

You will still have to play/grind to get the car you want.

Oh, btw,
The trading aspect of the game was only ever a bonus.
If all you bought GT5 for was to trade then maybe you should start
looking into the stock market.

Has it ruined the game?

Has it hell!

Lighten up guys and just enjoy it

So assuming i send a car to a fake psn account then load in my original game save, would it also mean that as i have my original car still the 1 trade per day rule is reset?

Could you make 2 copies of your gamesave and on #1 have like 5 mil, ... copy it, then use #2 to actually buy the car, and send it to the fake PSN acct, then use the fake PS acct to send back to save #1 so you're now with the car and the original money?

Jay, you're confused...you don't have to own the car, you just need to have someone send it to you. You're not copying the car, the guy sending you the car is making a copy of it...put the beer down it is too early to be drunk

1 person owns the cars and copies it 10 times, gives it to 10 people, they each copy it 10 times and give it to 100 people etc etc etc..

Well ok so the good you can backup your save on the off chance your ps3 explodes, or your save corrupts. The bad people can dupe cars now.....

I guess it is a question does the good outweigh the bad?
