Duplicating cars with backup game data?

If other people don't want to put up with the grind, that's perfectly fine. Me? When I buy a game, I want it to keep me entertained for as long as possible. Which means I will grind until I get sick of it, then possibly B-Spec. Will I duplicate cars? Maybe. Maybe not. I did it in GT4 in order to finish my "Road and Trek" articles quickly. I don't see what's wrong with doing it again in order to perform track testing, set-up testing and hot-lapping. Whether I do it or not, to finish the game 100%, I will still have to drive all the races. And so will they.

I'm glad someone said exactly what I was thinking.

Duplicating cars hurts no one. It may now actually be possible to collect 1000 cars.
 
I won't be doing this, just because I don't have internet, but I like the idea since it is sooooooOoo hard to make CR. In this game!! I hate to grind..
 
I understand why people dupe, its the random fact that some people are lucky in this game and some arent. I got a ticket in the game that gave me a random car very early in the game. (dont believe it was the 1000 mile ticket since that gave me a chaparral 2J, or it should have been given every 1000 mile than its possible) anyway. Ive gotten a toyota GT-one and nearly every race was a walk in the park.

Than when i got lvl 24 i noticed i had 5million credits went to the occasion dealer and found myself a bleu FGT.

So the difference between a lucky player and a unlucky one can be huge.
Have seen thousands of posts of people who didnt find the FGT never got any descent car when it came to the random car tickets.

Actually posess 2 FGT's now, and can buy a third in the online occasion dealership (wich i probably am going to do).

So i understand people duping cars, even when they rather didnt. I myself wont start duping, but dont know if i wouldnt if i wasnt so lucky.

This make cr income much easier.

Am I the only one who won't use the exploit but still thinks it's a good thing? Everyone plays games differently, we all prefer different aspects of the game, and let's face it... some people flat out suck. If things like this open up GT to more people and it helps spread the word then so be it. You guys can do what you like with the game you paid for, treat yourselves :)

If people don't try and just use crappy methods like this they will always suck, I am desperate to get an X1 but i'll earn it and have not used the trading forum yet, and don't plan to. I agree people can do what they want, but it's hardly the spirit of the game is it.

Really? economy? C'mon this isn't forza, there is no actual in game auction house or ability for us to post up our used cars for sale, so who honestly cares, everyone has the ability to get every car ingame anyway, weather they cheat or play through....

If people decide that they have to cheat then thats their choice, personally, am at 96% and own nearly everything I need, so don't want to risk being banned over something so novel....

plug ya ps3 in at work get the updates and give ya self a bit of respite from the horrid grind by earning far more cash... update 1.05 FTW...... go do it.....
 
The real cheat is not about duplicating the cars, the real one is that you can buy a new and a expensive car send it to a fake account and the resend it to you, after loading the old save with all the credits, also yoy can spend all your millions in spare parts, tyres, intakes, engine, exhaust..... send them to the fake account an repeat the process, yoy will have tons of elements without spending a dime.
 
I dont see how people dont see this as a cheat. It doesnt matter that you still need to own the car to duplicate it. You are DUPLICATING it. So you will get more money or more assets to trade that you did not earn = cheating !!

Why not just do the Indy race. $117.000 in 4.30mns is not bad at all.

Well I don't cheat and I don't care if the person I'm driving with cheated either.

As long as idiots don't use FGT and X2010 when all the others are driving REAL cars.

People aren't going to waste time getting the same exact car by doing the Indy race if:

a) the car costs several million dollars

b) it's a standard car, and only God knows when it'll show up again

c) a combination of the above

I like having tuned and untuned versions of my cars, so this exploit will come in handy.
 
I don;t see a real problem with it in a game like GT5. I will not bother doing it but I do not think it has much effect on me if others do it.

A game like Forza it does have an effect due to bidding wars in the auction system. Those who have cheated to get huge amounts of cash drive the prices up in a big way and makes it harder for those who play by the rules. Even then it is not that big a deal but it does have an impact.

I collected 1000 cars earlier this week. The final 150 were the PD cart from teh dealer. It was always possible.
 
cheating is subjective. Had a friend who thought players guides/walkthroughs were cheating. To each thier own though. Being I got the collectors ed and the best buy pre-order.. technically it's cheating too. I started the game with a lineup of really nice, free cars, whereas those who didn't pay extra had to work harder. Technically that's cheating too. Now with that being said, I would gladdly accept any high end cars to help bspec bob win like the wind >.<
 
Should there be a new section created for "cheaters" just like there was for hybrids back in the day? (I joined this site during the gt3 days to learn to hybrid)
 
Now the world of GT5 is overflooded with X2010s, making it a pretty worthless car with no value at all. I can't see why I even bothered doing the S. Vettel Challenge for a car everyone owns - independent of skill level.

I have a Mini looking for a X1 to trade...

Its interesting how many users call others cheater! Why do you bother? I don´t care if you have 1 X1 or 10. Only thing that goes down is the trading. Online is also not effected because you can set all aids off and the crash kids will destroy them selfs in the first corner.

GT is like always a Game that is meant to play for years and thats the point! People this days think they need the best car 14 days after the release! Hell this game is not out for a month and you start to Grind? why? Why do you hurry so much? you have years to bye all the cars and reach level 50!
And now with all the cheats you will end up after 3 month and think this game is boring because you have everything.

The point, I guess, is that vehicle ownership has become boolean. You either have the car or you don't.

There are no longer 'rare' cars because those cars will be cloned the most and will therefore become as plentiful as, for example, any common-or-garden low-level prize car.

In this kind of environment it's to be expected that cars will each have a value of 1 and will be traded on that basis.

That logic only applies if your sense of value is based on having what others do not. The beauty of the car, its performance or quarky reasons for liking it does not matter, what matters is having something other people do not.

Because: 1. You don't have it yet, and 2. You can't get a 100% Trophy without doing it.

Hmmm... now if you could transfer race wins by duplicating saves, that would definitely be cheating.

Nope. They shoulden't have introduced the whole gifting system in the first place. It's PD's own fault. They saw this coming, they just don't care. If they did, they would've done something already.
