Welcome!

Hi there, and welcome to Dutch Customs Tuning Shop for Need For Speed Shift! GT5P business was a bit slow the past few months, but Shift has wet my appetite (well, at least until GT5 ;)). Here you will find my selection of tunes for the wonderful Need For Speed Shift. As always, I am always interested in feedback, good or bad!

So, what does DC have to offer?

At the moment, Dutch Customs specializes in race tuning, meaning I tune cars for racing only, not for drifting. I try to customize cars I like to give consistent and fast laptimes while remaining close to the original. The shop consists of a 'current' section and an 'obsolete' section. The 'current' section contains cars that can be used with the current version of NFS Shift. The 'obsolete' section contains tunes that were once valid, but were invalidated by a NFS Shift physics and/or rating update. These tunes can't be used anymore, but they are kept here for reference; you never know if anyone might need them later and you can always browse them for inspiration. ;)

Chef's specialty and recommendations

Like a restaurant, Dutch Customs has several tunes (dishes) on offer. Much like a chef has his favorites, so has NLxAROSA. :) The tunes marked with Chef's specialty are the ones especially recommended by Dutch Customs. There are also the Recommended tunes, which are highly recommended by others (links to review comments provided). This will help you pick the tunes that DC (and others) are especially fond of. But make sure you check out the others as well, you just might find that little gem you are looking for that fits your unique driving style. :)

My favorite car is not in here, what now?

Too bad, I'm really busy at the moment, both offline and online. I'm not taking any direct requests at the moment, sorry.

Show me the tunes already!

Currently, Dutch Customs has the following cars on offer (at least until the next online update). Expect to see more in the near future. Unless stated otherwise, all cars are tested using PRO physics and all aids off except ABS, which is set to ON. All tunes are tested using a Logitech G25 Racing Wheel.

Ford Shelby GT500 / Spa GP / 9.98

When the name Shelby is attached to a Ford model, the true connaisseur can't help but start smiling. Tuned for the Spa GP circuit at a rating of 10.0 for Hereward's online racing series, the DC engineers succeeded in finding a good balance between the raw power of The Snake and excellent handling. As a result, it's a bit understeery with a nice dose of power oversteer at your command. Very predictable. With 776HP at your command, straight line speed is also no issue at all. :) Tip: use nitro whenever coming onto a straight bit. As always, let me know what you think of it, and most importantly: have fun! 👍

Nice one Lars ;) Good luck 👍
Thanks. 👍 The first post should give people a good idea of the upgrades to pick for this car. Tuning settings will follow later on. I already shaved off two seconds by tuning final gear alone, and I think there's still more in it, since I haven't even started on the suspension yet. :)

Do you think a person's steering setting will have affect on the tunes? Lets say they dont use the same you do and you make a tune would it work out the same for them? Was thinking about that earlier... :)

Actually, I think those will definitely have an impact. Not just the steering sensitivity/linearity setting, but also pedal sensitivity (braking/throttling).

It’s very nice to see the opening off this tuning facility!

I’m curious to see how the Dutch Customs can tame the beasts included in Shift and provide them the “incredible stability” that - in my opinion - describes the best their Prologue counterparts.

I have to confess I’m still in a very uncomfortable “love and hate” relation with this game’s physics at this time, so maybe your tunes can help settle thing down.:)

By the way, what are your recommendations for the G25 adjustments settings, to get a proper evaluation.

Thank you for this!👍

@ tinker Thanks for the link.

Just a little heads up, Dutch Customs seems to have an older vehicle as their test car... ;)

I'll donate a newer one.

UHOH! DC tuning is back!

Thought you were hiding away until GT5.... :sly:

Only joking, good to see you back 👍

Great to see one of the best tuners out here in GTPlanet. Needing test driver...heheh, let me know! :P

And what's with the Nitrous-kit? I thought you weren't going to put any nos in your cars.

Wait...why would you install Level 2 Brakes, Suspension and Tyres if you will install Level 3 ones after?

You have to install stage 2 parts before you can install stage 3 parts. The car starts off in Tier 2 so stage 1 parts aren't available. On a Tier 1 car you'd have to get a stage 1, then stage 2, then stage 3 brake upgrade in that order.

Yes, that was my previous statement. But, on Spa, it adds a second or two to your fastest lap. :) You can leave it off if you want, Nitro does not count towards the rating of the car (strangely enough, since the impact is huge!).

See Eric.'s post. :) You must fit them this way.

Oh...I see. Thanks!

Thanks for the donation to this poor tuner.

I updated the Shelby settings. Even I can do 2'32s with it, so decent drivers should have no trouble at all shaving several seconds off there. ;) I'm still not happy with the bouncyness of the suspension, but with the bouncing bug in place, I'm not too comfortable with tuning it out, so I made some very minor changes. Feel free to take it and adapt it to your liking. :)
