I hate this show. What could be more tedious and irritating than a bunch of doctors' personal problems Spare me. Drama either bores me or embarasses me. Therefore I can't stomach ER.

Hate it. Any show that focuses on the personal lives of make-believe characters is boring to me. It's created to make people beleive that doctors and nurses actually give a darn about patients in our worn-out health system.
That's one thing I like about "Law & Order"...there's a tiny bit of personal conflict, but it always stays on topic; last I checked, none of the other characters are trying to sleep with one another.
I did watch the ER episodes surrounding Dr. Carter's death. That was the good kind of drama... where the outcome is inevitable and the meat of the show was an exploration of dying. It was very sad, but very good.
Luka's sexual harrasment problems, that annoying depressive's crazy mom and brother, that spoiled rich bratt's family problems...

I spend Thursday evenings in another room while my wife watches. I can't even play GT3 'cuz the TV's tied up
Lucky for me Kathy and I watch roughly the same things...the only show she got into for a while was Seventh Heaven, but I was mocking it so much after a while, that she was doing it too. We looked at each other at the end of the episode and asked ourselves: "Why not just mock real people?"

Thats all we ever get here, those two programs and about 3 more just played constantly, no Extreme Machine or anything like that. It pisses me off.
Anywho, I've never really started watching it (ER) , but I have watched a few episodes, I like it. CSI is good, sometimes overboard yes, but other times it still good. I watched John Doe last night, only because my uncle rang up and told me there was a Cobra in it which there was so I tried to watch the rest of it and catch it again. That too seems a bit far fetched, but I havent really watched it before so I can't really pass a valid judgement.
i like ER. its about the only american drama i can stand. its not overacted and doesnt have corny punchlines or story lines. ive gotten to know the characters over a season or so and the wife and i will watch it every week.
Now we just wait for ER.
