E3 GTPlanet presence?

I'd donate a fistful of dollars no problem. The problem isn't going to be raising the money, its calculating who is the best person per pound spent.

I'd be honest and say that i'd rather someone less senior than Famine or Jordan went, someone who would be willing to break thier reputation. The last thing we need is Jordan going, then being told things in confidence that he couldn't risk his reputation to share. It is nothing personal against Jordan or Famine, i just think we need someone who has nothing to lose.

Awaits grilling.

On further thought, if those who donate are allowed to access an uncensored feed of information, after agreeing to non-disclosure, as per the interview Famine shared with the mods, that would be cool.

Not to grill you but...

The point with a senior staff, like Jordan / Famine is the reputation and credibility. There is a much bigger chance of getting the good interviews, and getting the right questions asked this ways, and getting the right answers!

Even if fx. Jordan got hold on some really really big news like, don't know, skidmarks! 💡 and wasn't allowed to say anything about it, he would still be able to prepare stuff for it to the site. That way he can have a bunch of skidmarks articles, maybe even photo/video ready when the news hits.

An added bonus in sending Jordan/senior is to thank for the work with the site over the years. I highly doubt the money issue will be big if we get started soon. I just need some help from the staff.

I trust myself ofc, but i fully understand why no one would trust me with $ on a paypal, hence it has to be through the site somehow.

Whoah there. I'm flattered but I don't swing that way...

I think I'm losing my touch, took me about 3 hours to figure out what was going on. :dunce:

It's all up to Jordan, would be better if you speak directly to him.

Guys, I would donate as soon as GTP E3 presence is confirmed, and I'm sure there at least five hundreds of members who think the same.

Everyone is talking about Famine, Jordan and EDK ( most feasible option ), but I know everybody has their own job as lives and cannot attend to such event in normal conditions, but I think that would be valuable to take at least two people, EDK is the real deal if he can attend, he run many WRS events, I'm sure he's ready to question every feature of the online mode, also Famine or Jordan are really experienced members ( owner and the blue writing legend...) and will be able to raise the points and issues we're all expecting an answer for. :gtpflag:

If you guys set up an account for donations, I'm with you.

I really couldn't see anyone else going but Jordan. Remember that GTPSP fan contest, where Jordan came third? If I remember correctly, the winners were hand picked by Kazzy himself. So, GTP and especially Jordan are pretty far in on Kazzy's radar. So if anybody had a chance of interviewing him, it would be Jordan.

I can imagine how great it would be for GTPlanet to be there officially and do full on coverage like some gaming sites, with video interviews, floor demo's etc.

Im sure if KY was there he wouldnt mind giving GTPlanet a proper interview seeing as we are the biggest GT dedicated site. The first time KY and GTP officially meet, gosh it gives me shivers!

I think Jordan should go, maybe he could stay with the LA forum members and eat all their food = less travel costs :sly:

The big one would obviously be TGS but I dont see people flying over there if we can't even get near E3!

Robin.

Got a HD cam by any chance?

I have an SD camcorder :D and I'm sure I can convince my boss to record me (he'll be there for all 3 days) race as he already expressed interest in what I can't stop talking about, hehe.

Jerome

You guys won't get much done. You'll have e to work your way though even bigger crowds of IGN, Gamespot etc reporters with HD cameras and microphones, to get to Kaz, or even see the GT5 booth.

Smallhorses and EDK both live in California and, though it's a little trek for them both, they'd be sensible choices to throw at LA.

Those are my two choices on the subject. I say there should be a cage match! Two men enter, one man leaves! I've got $20 on Kevin (sorry Nick, he's got the size advantage!)

Jerome

Actually PD should pay for Jordan to fly out to show off GT5, I've seen lots of other dev's do this where they bring journalists half away round the world so they can sweeten them up! A good example was when Blur (the racing game) flew journalists all the way to the UK from LA to see it.

Too much money. Not enough active/willing participants/users.

We won't get a secret interview (or at least nothing NEW will be revealed to us)

And to send ONE man to cover ONE game is a lot.

From recording to playing to reporting. Very silly. That's what the media is for. (My opinion)

Yeah but the "media" does a really poor job at it. Not to mention the fact that they're there each E3 and it's always the same thing "How many cars you got?" "How many tracks you've got?" or the usual "Question I know I won't get any answer but I'm asking it anyway because I like to waste everyone's time".

I have taken a lot out of this site and given very little back to it, having never purchased premium membership.

I would be willing to give a donation of some sort for a staff member to attend the event. Probably more if Jordan is going, due to the higher costs and the higher probability of getting an interview.

Though it would be <£10 I am more than willing to contribute, add me to the list :)

Like I said earlier what will be revealed will be revealed, whether there is someone from gtplanet there or not.

Unfortunately I believe this to be true, which is why I questioned the value earlier on. However, like Seismica, I too am more than willing do donate a modest amount to give somebody the opportunity to go. Even if they don't get any exclusive news, it will be a great experience I'm sure.

Yeah, but Smallhorses is a Brit - he fights dirty. Also, he's a hair-puller.

I didn't read the whole topic, just the first page.

Jordan - I saw your first post, saying that you got credentials last year and cancelled your trip. Man, I don't know if it's just me, but I have a hunch that (just like we thought last year) GT will be out this year and that a lot of information will be revealed.

With GTPSP out of the way and the tons of information and videos from the new demo without any apparent action from PD, this might make sense. I think you should go this year, but this is only my humble opinion.

I think it's a great idea, I'm also willing to donate, but we need make sure before hand that the guy will have an entry ticket - I think it needs reservation. Maybe Scaff may get such invitation from Sony since he got 3rd place in Sony/PD competition for this GTP site.

This way we will have a good source of info that can also ask the "proper" questions rather than the same old journalists questions ("70 tracks & 20 locations, sound good....")

Put me down as willing to donate. If I had a house near LA or E3 was in NY I would let you stay at my place but alas thats not the way it is.

Not to be rude, but how do we / Jordan / whoever is deemed so lucky enough to go know that you're not some kind of psycho? :p

I'd be wary about "shacking up" with some unknown from a forum...

Sorry to sound like a fool, but what competition?

I must confess to being clueless about this, but then again I have been rather busy/useless (delete as required) of late.

I believe he meant Jordan, for that biggest fan competition.

I think I might be going on my own (I live 30 miles from the convention center) so if I get some footage, I'll be sure to post it. Also, if anyone else is going PM me or something and we can meet up

Nah you can trust me I am nice guy :sly:. He he he. Lol. Yeah if I were Jordan I would say thanks but no thanks. Its not like I have a sister or something:idea:. Hell the only valuable things in my house are my G25, PS3, TV, Speakers and laptop. Whatever just kidding around.
