has to be the MR2 GT-S.

After buying/playing/drifting GT3 for 2 days and countless hours tuning the 86 and S13 240SX, I have conluded that the MR-2 is easily the best car to drift with if your a beginner.

Just set the camber, stabilizer, brake balance, turn off the traction and stability control (options), and use sim tires.

i tried a lot of cars..
speedster
mr2
supra
porsche
viper
mustang
skyline
silvia
trueno

and i think the best cars for drifting is:
FR: RX7 (FD)
MR: NSX
4WD: skyline
FF: I don´t know how to drift it..

lol, i guess its just me because before i bought the game on sunday, all i did was dream about drifting, i would roll off the bed when i dreamt of drifting (its a condition thats been occuring for the past 2 years). So I guess linking drifts and somewhat extending the drift comes naturally. But what I really really wanna attain is the long long showy drifts I keep seeing like the one you did in your lancer drift video in tokyo 246.

i agree with drifitng an mr2 as a begginner...just sims traction control and asm off, stage 1 turbo and engine mods, drivetrain mods and brake mods and u will have an easy time getting sideways and staying sideways, but any silvia or 86 is just as easy...so again a matter of preference.

Yeah, the MR2 GTS was easy the first two days I drifted. But I was using my grip settings....minus the ASM and TCS, and riding on SIMs........I got a medium-length drift with it in my vid, but that was all I could really do.

For me, it's gotta be the RS200....fully tuned on normals. Unless I'm doing a "tribute" vid or comp, you will always see the red RS200 in one of my vids.

I chose the mr2 first because I learned how to drift in Midnight Club 2 with the Vortex 5 (MR2). I just can't stand the amount of tuning needed to to make an FR drift and if I did, usually it would endup understeering to spin out. At first I thought I could drift in the 240SX (after NFS:U, please forgive me), but I wasn't used to it......YET! I know though I'll be kicking myself in the balls when I want to ante up myself to FR whereas I'll be way too used to drifting a midship engine. Using the brake tecnique is best with the MR because the engines in the back so the weight transfer from the front towards the rear is easily induced when braking.

hmm.. well mr2 "is" an easy drift car but if you really want to be a good drifter, try cudamans fc setting.. i still use it today cause its such a slippery setting (the way i like it)

No cars require any tuning. It's all about the driver. Tuning is just to take the cars performance to the next level. It also helps adjust the car to the driver's preference.

uhh... well if u look in my video... i only use fr layouts... not much of a fan of mr2's... they look nice tho...

my fav:
1)86
2)fc
3)fd
4)silvias

and das all i drift with

ok, sorry bout this thread. after playing a little more, the mr 2 (specifically the mr drivetrain) is harder to drift. I could easily change cars, but to make my gt3 drifting experience more interesting, i'm gonna try to stretch the mr2s limit by stretching its drifts and linking. the longest drift held by me so far in the mr2 is the first turn in midway II. In linking, it would have to be the first link of drifts in midway II in 4th gear. VERY sorry for being kind of a cocky n00b. But being excited about drifting and finding a game that can mimic drifting the most of all games gets you kinda wierd :)

I learn to drift in Gran turismo 2, but it isn't very different to Gran turismo 3. I learn how to do drift in a mine's lancer V. For me it was easy to drift. 2 weeks has passed, and I drift very well (in my opinion), I tried a Mr2, but I dislike it, during the drift, yes, it is a good drifting car, but to start the drift it was very hard.

The best cars to drift in my opinion are:

1º Toyota sprinter trueno/levin Gt apex

2º Mazda rx 7 Fd type R

3º Mazda rx7 Fc infini III

I can drift more fast with my Toyota Levin in curves, but the others aren't very long too.

Agreed.....*hands Battle another dime*.

My favorite cars, to drift with, are the Silvias. More specificaly, S14, RPS13, S13 (in that order) ;)

hey do u guys keep the TCS on or turn it completly off? depending on how much power the car has i usually turn it off for low HP cars and keep it on 1 for higher powered cars, lets me get in gear easier cuz the tires dont slip, but thats jsut me, is it easier to hold a drift when tis completly off?
