Feel free to join a AUS lobby and race him.
But I give you fair warning....

Soooo how's about a short checklist of signs that your opponent is eCheating? I'm pretty sure I came across a guy last night...I was getting beat by wayy too much in a tune that I KNOW FOR A FACT would NEVER be beaten by much at all when head to head with the same car....besides that, what are the telltale signs to identify these clowns quickly? Unless its.just listening to bog, in which case ill just have to come across it more to weed em out....furthermore I'd hate to have to make a list of echeaters, but I feel like an echeat roster will be a trend soon

Well, you can listen for the revs dropping but some people have managed to bypass this, echeating without bogging.. Mostly it's common sense, just analyse his ''off the line'' run, if you think you have a good tree than most which you do since i've ran you.. and then he is still treeing you consistently by 1.5-2 lengths, then he is probably echeating.

Corrected.

A echeat roster would be great, this is heavily used by the so called pro's, I treed a couple of so called PROS, but there's one that if you tree hard while he's echeating, and you hear his bogg he'll call u back to the line till he gets it right

Here something to take into account. I've notice the Farther away my 3rd is from my 2nd its faster. But you have to shift just right or it will bog out. I use this on my RWD cars but it won't happen with 4WD, so if you hear a bog then you know what their doing... Cheating:). With 4WD cars somethines people have their 2nd to far and will bog but those people don't win.

Damn cheatin' stupid kids. but really just to say I saw a person in a Veyron, escudo, and Gtr Tc which all run 8.7-8.2's ghost launch and use echeat ALONG with SRF . I mean to be honest... i used Srf just to start but... when it comes to getting better... i stopped unlike some ppl. :(

excuse me punk? how dare you infer i e-cheat. little runt, no actually its againt the aup if you where actually smart and read it like your supposed to buddy.

Whoa, just a little sarcasm, and read what? I like to read.

then make sure you clairify its a sarcastic remark. and the aup is the acceptable use policy, you agreed to it when you joined the site.

I got nothing against you KT, but you're being a bit of a hypocrite saying that.

• You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.
• You will not behave in an abusive and/or hateful manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack any individual or any group.

And there is nothing in the AUP that I can tell stops anyone from making a list of people that use the e-cheat, the problem lays with how that list will be treated, and the intent of the list it self, if there was a list made purely for infomational purpose.

Eg: This is a list of self admited e-cheat users looking to race other like minded users.

Just like a list of 'good' racers would be fine. But the minute that list is made people will start sending hatefull messages to those on the list as the majority here dislike those that use it. And if it's a list of accused e-cheat users then it falls under this,

• You will not knowingly post any material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate.

Seeing as it's technically imposible to 'prove' that someone e-cheats when online, you can only asume they are (while it's still pretty much a 99% chance they are if the rev's drop and they rocket away) unless you are drag racing with the race started to that you can view the replay after and check to see if the e-brake light comes on. But I dont think anyone ever does that except for maybe in comps? As you're stuck in one car untill everyone quits out to the pits or the race ends.

sorry, but false accusations really tick me off... when im home ill read this whole thing. i may need to take this to pm rather quick.

I understand that, no one likes to be falsely accused of something, and I have no problem with what you said. I just found it hypocritical to bring up the AUP and point out someone isn't following it when you didn't follow it yourself.

This next statement isn't aimed at you KT it's just a statement of how I feel. Personally I find the whole e-cheat hate to be trivial and hypocritical, the reasons people hate it is because it's easy to do, is unrealistic, and isn't an intended feature of the game, it's an exploit. But really, in GT5 drag racing what is realistic? Just to get a decent drag tune you need to use exploits and unintended features like the transmission flip, it's not an intended feature and so is arguably an exploit.

Now I know pretty much nothing about tuning for drag racing in real life, or just tuning to improve the perfomance for any means in real life so if someone can inform me I would appreciate it.
What in GT5 drag tuning does work in the real world?
Are the spring rates we use realistic?
Are the gear ratios and final drive ratios we use realistic?
Are the toe angles we use realistic?
Maybe they are realistic settings, but I doubt it, but I could be wrong, and would really like to know just how close to realistic settings a good drag tune uses.

I just find it kind of funny and curious that this whole unofficial and unspuported form of racing in GT5 that the community has decided to impose a set of hypocritical rules to determine what is 'legit' and what isn't.

I guess it's something similar to how people are hesitant to change when new and better technology comes out, people get used to what they know and become stuborn to change and stay stuck in their old ways.

Technically the finals are close to real-life, pro stock/street around 3.0-3.5, but you are taking great chances in real life on destroying your drive-train if the launch does not go as planned:D

I can make it clearer, as there's a few AUP violations in this very thread. Do not invoke the AUP and suggest people follow it in the very same sentence you insult them. That's pretty clearly defined with this:

• You will not behave in an abusive and/or hateful manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack any individual or any group.

It's a strangely hypocritical approach, yes - to say nothing of GT5's awful tire physics, that turn drag racing into a literal one-button affair. A 900hp Viper should not launch arrow-straight off the line every time, and yet...

It's funny that this "e-cheat" is considered just that, but there's no qualms about the questionable transmission and ride height glitches in the game.

We had a similar problem with "freaky physics" back in the GT2 days; some cars (infamously, the R30 Silhouette Skyline) rode so low with max downforce that their bodies dragged across the track. It essentially gave super-downforce thanks to some bizarre errors in the (much simpler) physics engine, meaning dominant cars like the GT-one and R390 could take almost all of Red Rock Valley completely full-throttle.

It was a known exploit, and many series limited cars or downforce settings to avoid it, in the name of competition amongst said series. But if you wanted to have the fastest lap times? If you wanted to be at the top of the podium? You learned to exploit it. Is that unfair? Possibly. But look at this year's GT Academy runs and the questionable physics exploits people used to stay at the top of the pile. These are still games, and as such, we're working within their parameters, not real life's.

That's why we have smileys, all inflection is lost through text hence the reason so many useless and pointless arguments plague forums.

Very true, which is why I use a fair amount of emoticons when discussing things on GTP, especially if I toss in any sarcasm. It helps to give the words more of a "voice", something that obviously wouldn't be needed if we were talking in person, or even on mics.

Ive said it before and i''ll say it again, i drag race multiple times per week and i still have never seen a single person e cheating. its a total non-issue, you guys might as well be arguing about getting testicular cancer some day.

Players on gt5 always think someone echeats if you treed the mess out of them and has nothing to back it up. Or they say you using a tube tv so you have better reaction. (Always happens to me)

I have a 40'inch LED LG television with HDMI cord hooked on the ps3

:dunce:so now its a non-issue? come across it a FEW times the past few nights... some recurring usernames, but a wall of shame would be useful if we were allowed....*sigh

Thats how I make the bog less noticeable dude!!!!!

I'm pretty sure you could make a seperate website with your wall of shame, And then just have the links in your sigs. I would double check the AUP though. Its got to be flirting with some of the rules.
