Effects of Mileage?

Judging by what I've read in Famine's Endurance companion & on my own experience, the chassis deterioration is mainly dictated by mileage. However it's hard to know whether driving purely on grass/sand, in GT4, will accelerate chassis wear. But I don't see why not.

Also, as a side note, putting the rollcage on Group C's/LMP's/Etc. is not advisable. These cars are already equipped with a rollcage and the suspension is set for their current state of stiffness. Throwing the 'Increase Rigidity' on only makes the chassis exceed the bounds of their suspension, generally making them harder to drive as the suspension can no longer match the chassis accurately.

I'll have to buy a few new LMPs to check out this theory of having a car too rigid. I'm wondering if I can even tell the difference. I've used LMP cars that seemed to bounce all over the place (to me, anyway) so maybe I should have left their rigidity in a standard state. As was mentioned before, I figured that any extra rigidity can be offset by tweaking the suspension a bit. I shall see. Maybe having an option of extra rigidity on cars that have a rollcage is a gotcha perpetrated by the creators of GT4 for overmodding fools.

btw, something of potential interest:

if you change the oil regularly on a car its engine condition will deteriorate slower than if you don't.

my ginetta lost irreversibly one HP at ~1200km mileage after i made 70 laps in a row on the high-speed ring. actually it lost originally more than one, but the subsequent oil change restored all but one.

OTH, my 350z LM is in a minty shape at > 1500km but it has never been on a such a long trip as the ginetta.

it'd be interesting to see up to what mileage a car engine can be kept at its factory nominal through frequent oil changes.

I've driven almost 4000 kms in a-spec with the Subaru 360 portrayed in my avatar, and so far it has lost unrecoverably about 0.16 of a horsepower
In new condition it has 15.485 hp so that makes it about 1.1 percent loss.. My plan is to figure out how much you have to drive your car before it has lost the maximum amount of power which you're able to lose, and how much is that loss (I'm approximating about 15 percents)

How are you able to see fractions of a horsepower? I thought it was always rounded to the nearest whole number.

NO, DO NOT GET ANOTHER MOMORY CARD! When it asks you to stick the card with the garage you want to load from, just put your memory card in slot 2, then buy the car from yourself, and then stick it back in slot 1.

That is insane, don't risk corrupting your data by taking the memory card out while the console is on. If you want to do this, buy a new one and back up your data on it in case the original becomes corrupted during the switch.

well, i've put 10,200 km in my Pesky PlayStation and it only seems to be a little bit slower. I've got roll cage and all with my car and there doesn't seem to be a problem.....
