Then, photoshoot with a 2002 Ford GT LM Concept against a 2004 Ford GT LM II Concept. Not bad, eh? The 2002 in the original GT40 "Gulf" colors, and the 2004 in the new PlayStation/Sony/Polyphony colors. At Sarthe, of course.

I took the Evo out for a trip, and drove from Norway to Germany. Where did we end up?

Yes, the Evo VI T.M.E had it's first race on Wednesday, and yes, on the "Ring".
4h Nürburgring race, Endurance. Nothing broke, we ran on S2 tires, stock rims, and the biggest "problem" was a 2004 NSX Type-R. I think my car roughly costs around 55k, with the S2 tires and not the R1s I've also got (see the black OZ Racing rims), while the NSX costs around the doubled.

Race starts, note the white Evo in the back of the grid.

evo13lj.jpg

A fresh start there for the Evo, I think it likes the 'Ring.

evo20ix.jpg

My VI T.M.E makes the VIII MR GSR look boring!

evo31ne.jpg

Blasting into the rear mirror of the Pontiac GTO 5.7 (hopeless car, really, finished last and not much fun to drive either..)

evo46ig.jpg

Tommi Mäkinen himself would be proud!

evo59js.jpg

evo66ik.jpg

The Camaro was impressed by the Evos corner abilities, and it's appetite for speed ;)

evo77aw.jpg

Flat out in the Evo feels so good.

evo87qp.jpg

evo96dr.jpg

The naughty bodykit would make the common boy racer horny.

evo106nh.jpg

The NSX wasn't delighted.

evo117kd.jpg

So it showed me it's best.. Tried to scare me.

evo134pa.jpg

I just took him on the outer. And mind you, this is only the first lap.

evo144ny.jpg

In my eyes, very beautiful.

evo159ee.jpg

It's practically glued to the road!

evo166qk.jpg

I think it tries to hide from me..

evo173el.jpg

As you can see, the Evo's a bit tail-happy.

evo186ru.jpg

Smooth 'n' low.. Perfect!

evo195pm.jpg

Anyone said low, by the way?

evo123zr.jpg

I love this car!

evo202gy.jpg

Top speed is around 256 km/h, limited to the stock, close gearbox.

evo215sy.jpg

Lovely cornering abilities, 160 km/h around this is no problem..

evo223ba.jpg

I'll just let this speak for it's self;

evo231hl.jpg

The nimble Evo comes quickly into the upcoming corner.

evo240fr.jpg

Maybe a bit understeer, but it's not bad at all. In fact, surprisingly neutral...

evo251pe.jpg

As you can see here, it wants to go sideways when you let off, and it doesn't take much skill to drive this car balanced.

evo264js.jpg

The ultimate track for the ultimate car!

evo278ah.jpg

So the project is finished, and the race is done. How we did? Well, not to brag, but the Evo made the first place! Congratulate it, I really hadn't hoped this when I started the project of a budget racecar!
Now awaits a trip to southern Europe, for a photoshoot in Monaco. Stay tuned.

More pics are coming tomorrow, as it's late and I'm tired after the big Evo on the Ring..

Enjoy for now!

Wow, you've been busy Eiriksmil... So many photos!

I particularly like the Ford GT shots. The first one reminds me of a recent shot of mine. (Feel free to visit my gallery and leave a comment.) Actually I think that is probably your best shot so far, with nice refletions off the car, and great contrast, too.

One tip for you: The car doesn't always have to be dead centre in the picture, it's occasionally nice to see a bit of the scenery. :)

Keep up the consistent photo-shoots.

Aston Martin DB9

Location: Grand Valley Speedway

Background for picture: I love the DB9s shape, but the wheels' to small, and the car could use a lowering. With these two matters sorted out, the DB9screams for attention!

Nice, especially the first pic! But the close up pics are sort of weird and distorted look. Great car, great update!

It was the point.. I like the last of those "weird" shots, more supercar than supercoupe..
Thanks for all the good comments, guys (the ones above too, I haven't had time to answer them all).

I love the 2nd from last shot the most, keep up the good work.

Great update with the Aston!
Very nice use of scenery with the bridge, it seems to work well as a background for that car, which you have managed to look very clean and smooth, as well. (Especially in the 4th photo.)
I also like your use of borders, they are a nice size.

By the way:...

I apologise if this sounded like I was trying to out-do you with the GT, as this was not the case. :)

Anyway, keep up the great updates.

Good update. The 1st pic is my favourite!! But the 3rd and 4th pics are weird. Hope to see more!

Very cool shots, eiriksmil! I loved that one series where you actually told a small story to go along with the screenshots. It really makes the pictures seem more "alive".

Explanation: This is a magazine feature of a Honda. Names are created. It's of course not a real magazine feature, but it "brings life to the pictures".

ClassRX

Harold Martin's Honda Ballade CRX, also known as the first generation CRX, is one of the cleanest we have ever seen in the United States. It's also one of the ten first CRXs' ever registered in the US.
So how did Harold get hold of a clean motor like this? "Well, to begin with, it was my brothers first car. He drove it a lot the first half year, back and forth in Florida. It was then my turn to get the keys for the car. The first months involved a lot of work, but it was all worth it!"
Harold fitted some coilovers and bushes, to support the PD 15" wheels. The chromed lip with black centre fits the CRX' two-tone paint perfectly, and adds a dash of lux to the new-car look.
The "Rex" has covered just short of 66.000 miles. Powered by a rev-friendly 1.5 litre Single Overhead Camshaft engine. Honda lovers will know that we're talking about the D15A2. The engine is bone stock, apart from some shining. Taking out more than 100 bhp from a 1.5 litre engine is not hard, at least not if it's a Honda. The biggest downside is the lack of torque low-down, the D15A2 is rev-happy and power hungry, if not a bit unresponsive.
The engine bay is done in the same two-tone style as the exterior, with all plastic parts painted grey. The polished all-alloy head, together with color-coded red letters, shows just how thought-out this car is.
Inside, MOMO steering wheel, seats and gear knob dominates in a relativly subtle, black interior. It's hard to find anything "ricer" about this car inside, no indication what so ever. I've seen Civics with "NOS-bottles", awful yellow dashboard paint, and the list continues. This is pure OEM+, with small, simple changes to a nice dashboard.
Combine the D15A2, with both stylish engine bay and interior, with the two-tone red and grey paint, and lovely 15" wheels, camber angle in 2.5 degrees, and a ride height around 90mm, and you'll have the cleanest Ballade possible. Which proved why Harold got the first price in the 1980s category in the Miami Japanese Car show. And he's hungry for more. The list of to-do is big, which involves either an engine swap to the B16A VTEC, or maxing out the D15A2. Either way, the 'Rex is improving heavily, and setting the standard for all Honda Ballade Sports CRX's.

honda2lz4.jpg

It looks semi-sporty, cute but angry.

honda3ld3.jpg

The sleepy-eyes is genuine Honda.

honda4sq5.jpg

The PD wheels look the business, but they also cost what Harold payed for the Ballade.

Cool picks man. I relly like the rims on the VW at the canyon. Most people would have went with racing style rims, but you went with stock factory classic beetle wheels. NICE!!! I like it, keep up the nice work...

Dare to be different, eh?
People tell me they're car fans, right? But do they understand the brands? What the marques means? The Bora/Jetta IV is a Dub. In the best way. With the color combination I've presented, I think it looks classy and massive. Which means chrome wheels. But not gangsta-chrome, no no. We've got some alternatives when it comes to DUB-wheels, as far as I'm concerned. Either Porsche, Mercedes or big/old Volkswagen wheels. I'm running Merc-wheels on the green Golf IV, and old Volkswagen wheels on the Bora/Jetta. I think they suit that a lot more than the ricey rims.
As you can see, my Honda Civic EG is running wide steelies, something I feel suits it a lot more than ugly, big wheels. The Evo VI on the other hand, has too big brakes and needs more rubber, in addition to have bigger wheel houses. Therefore I'm running racing rims on that.
As I said, you need to understand the brands in order to get the right style, as wheels makes or breaks a car.
Thanks :)

2003 Trial Celica SS-II (ZZT231)

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Background for 'shoot: The Trial Celica is one of the few non-ricey FWD cars with aluminium wings around. I love it, and what's better than a flashy backdrop with moving people?

Nice, very nice, I love your taste in rims!

I wish I had GT4 so I could start a gallery :( If they ever make it for psp... though the pix'll be all distorted...

Anyway, that last pic of the CRX rims is really pixellated, might want to try and fix that.
