Hi everybody and mods of gtplanet. I have recently just purchased gran turismo 5. I had been playing for a couple of weeks, I have gave gran turismo 5 and the tuning a try before, but I never looked towards tuning A EK, my friend on playstation network sent me one and said; here's a base tune take and run with it, that I did, so I started gettin online today, ran a few people tune wasn't that great but it sure was a base map, till I ran into a big fish, I'm not going to say name, not here to bash, but yes he seemed to be a little bit faster than i. So I went and did a retune, went back down to the strip where everyone runs we lined up, he seemed as if he was waiting for this because he had, no competiton. We lined up we launched evenly he pulled maybe a bumper ahead of me and said "gr" I learned that ment good run, but after that he go's to the pits and kick, cool story! But I was coming here today my time to say I'm opening a room for test and tune EK hatchbacks if you think u have a fast time or u wanna try a tune on your EK hatchback come. All is welcome I don't lag, forget about what they say about flags and just race microphones will be disabled for my purpose if u don't like it don't attend, I will be posting my playstation network online name soon, room will be titled EK test and tune, thank you sorry mods for mistakes or any errors while writting this long run on story.

First off WELCOME to :gtpflag: Also welcome to the Drag Racing Community.
As you have seen some people in the Honda world can be :censored:bags. A lot of us can be at times, we spend countless hours and days trying to shave off hundredths and thousandths of a second. You will see what I mean when you get better. Also take a look at the NEW 1/4 mile data base and look at how close the times are.

How can I say this:confused:💡 Ok, I,m not saying this was you intention, nor am I defending dudes actions (for one thing I don't know who did it nor do I care, :gtplanet: frowns upon calling people out.) But I will say that Pro Teams/Pro Racers do not like what we call "Tuning off of me"
Tuning off of me: When a slower Driver runs a few runs against a Driver, makes a few adjustments, does few more runs with the same Driver, ect...

He probably kicked you because he thought you had gotten fast enough tuning off of him. And like you said, he probably wanted to stay as the "big fish" in the room. But a lot of people judge you by your first run, if you cant keep up on the first run your not fast enough. It's cruel yes, but your dealing with simple minded humans, not a dumb A.I.

He probably wasn't that fast if you were able to take a base tune, do a "quick fix" and keep up. If you want to get serious about 1/4s. I recommend you buy the SSRX Test Course and spend endless hours improving your launch, shifting and times.

On a comment you made on another Thread. Times DO matter, you are correct it is on the RACE but more on the LAUNCH. If you can not run at least 11.7xx or faster in your EK and DC5 (if 1/4s grow on you and you want to expand) you will be considered slow. I also recommend that you purchase other Honda's or they'll call you a one trick pony.

So to wrap this up. Please don't take anything I say personal, I'm just telling you how the Honda world is. Do not let this first experience tarnish your view on Honda 1/4s. They can be really fun, close and competitive. If you can get on a Team there are some cool Crews out there:cool: If all else fails start your own room and control it how you like.

Good Luck and Good Racing

thanks i will look into that. yes i own route X grips different and my tune acts weird when i go back to indy, for some reason i always get wheel hop after i leave route X, but i am working on getting better, i just started so i have to do more races for money so i could purchase more front wheel cars, ill be online soon, and if you are tell the host people flags dont make your room lagg its the host internet

I agree wig ryzno but I don't take offense from "tuning off me". That's what people do and myself. Luke if someone is pulling on me I go and do a quick adjustment and see if I did Amy better. That's how you tell if you got faster at indy. I don't know if the Honda world is like that but us (people that tune cars with more liters than a coke bottle lol) don't really care. I have not seen anyone take offense. But other than that I totally agree with you.
And team Hydro 2.0 Welcomes you to GTPLANET!

Hopefully this will help you, this is how All Pro Rooms and Testing are Setup.
Online
Indy:
Line: Off
TC: Off
SRF: Off
AS: Off
ASM: Off
ABS: 1
Tire/Fuel: Off
Grip: Real

SSRX:
Same

Offline Testing @ SSRX:
Same but You can't set Grip

Notes:
Indy technically is not a 1/4 mile it is 370M not 400M so setups will act differently. If you setup for SSRX your car will be a hair slower.

By wheel hop do you mean it bogs on the quick shift or it (spins in 2nd? which is normal your have to tune to control it.)

"Tuning off me" was a method that was used before SSRX came out.

What pro tuners did was tune against a ghost version of themselves. So what they would do is save a replay of their run, and tune against that. It was very effective at that time.

Welcome to GTPlanet! :gtpflag:

Yeah but I've seen people get mad at those not so fortunate to have SSRX(I was kicked for it when I was learning before SSRX). And oddly enough I never thought of that.:dunce:

Haha yeah that was my source of improvement, the "ghost tune". Been doing that since 2010 :)

Wheel hop meaning that I'm bouncing off rev limiter like would do in 1st but I think me and my leader had a talk about this but you guys for the input I really like this site and I'm not here to cause drama

Yes in the Honda world ppl don't like when you tune off of them, i remember when i first started at least the guy told me and didn't kick me out.

And yes, when you tune at the X and go back to Indy your a bit slower therefore I don't tune for the whole 1/4 run, I try to top out before the run ends and surprisingly in some cars they end up being faster.

Totally agreed with you C-losk. My tunes work both ways and most of my times are with Indy tunes. My EK is running 11.750 but my gears top out before the 1320ft mark. They might top out at 1300ft.

Cool, hey do u have the Ballade CRX, I did a very quick tune and ran 13.162, I'm gonna add weight and see what I get after.
