Does anyone know if there is any significant changes in elevation that I should know about between South Carolina, and Oklahoma? My Dad told me that OK's elevation is like 900-1100 feet higher than where we're at here in SC. If this is true, should I worry about my car going lean while I'm down(or up, I guess) there next week? My car was tuned at SGC in Georgia with an A/F of high 11's. Pretty damn rich/conservative. 1,100 feet, or whatever, won't change it much, right?

Meh. I'm sure this sounds stupid. I'm just paranoid. I know it's not like I'm going from sea level to Pike's Peak, but I'm still worried. The last thing I want to do is blow a $13,000 engine if I could have prevented it.

BTW- I just got my two new video camera's I ordered for this trip. A Sony DCR-PC110, and a Sony DCR-TRV27. I'm meeting a kid in Tulsa, OK from SVTPerformance.com who's going to let us use his digital camera, and there's some kids in Biloxi, Mississippi that are coming with me who have camera's we're going to use. Should have plenty of stupid car racing footage by the time I get back.

HAHA!

HAHA, HAHA, HAHA ha ha!

Hey focker, Oaklahoma City resides at ~1300 feet above sea level.
The highest point in OK is Black Mesa that peaks at 4,973 feet above sea level.

If you tuned conservativelty, you shouldn't have any issues with that elevation. Keep an eye on your EGT guage or wideband if you have one.

HAHA.

Which way are you going? I-40?

You might go through a bit of the Appalachian Mountains and then you can get up to 3-4000 feet above sea level. That may pose a problem.

But you can easily navigate around the Smokey Mtns to avoid any drastic increase in elevation.

If you take I-20 from SC to Birmingham, to RT-78 north to Memphis, then hit I-40 to OK. You should stay out of any higher elevations.

Why all the laughing? Mad because my car can breathe, and your's can't?:p Damn. Sea level + forced induction > Boombexus.

How high above sea level is Sand Springs/Tulsa? Pretty much the same as OKC?

I have an Autometer Pyrometer(EGT) gauge ordered, along with fuel pressure & vac/boost, but I doubt it'll get here with enough time left to install it before I leave on the 8th.

Either way its still partially forced induction. And i think thinner air cant be made as compact as regular air. I'm just waiting for someone to correct me:D

I'm not sure which way I'm going yet. That's how I'd normally go when going straight to OK, but this time around I'm stopping off in Mississippi.

No, I'm laughing cus you suck. :p Meh, I don't really know how to explain why, I'm tired.
I actually drove through SC last week. It was good to get the car down to sea level. It's amazing how different the car is down there as opposed to up here in the stratosphere. :(

I had some good runs against a M version Z3. We were neck and neck up until about 125 mph then she started pullin on me. She was cute too!

I have no idea, but I'd assume that the elevations are fairly similar.

Why a boost guage? Doesn't a supercharger run the same amount of boost all the time?
I'd think that an oil pressure/temp guage would suite a supercharger better?

Anyway, have fun on your trip.

The WRX doesn't boost its full 14.5 PSI here in Denver. I only get to about 13 PSI :( Read this it seems pretty in depth.

What the hell? You were in SC, and didn't tell me? What the **** dude? Meh.

The stock gauge only reads 0psi, and 10psi. Mine should be hitting 17 or so at full boost. These cars don't hold full boost all the time. They hit full then steadily drop a few pounds the higher in the RPM's you get. I'm going to disconnect the boost bypass valve sometime, and see if it'll stay constant then.

An oil pressure gauge will be ordered the 6th - when I have more money. I ordered the fuel p/boost for the double a-pillar pod, and the EGT will go along side an oil p gauge in a dash bezel.

My god....that's gonna be looking like donbenni's entry for interior chops week 1:lol: . Too bad ive never dealt with a turbo or supercharger in my life...i really should read into what your taking about:odd:
