I have an elise, which I have had on a track and its handling is nothing like it is in the game. Which is abit disappointing as it was the first car I got in GT mode once I had enough cash.

You don't have to be gentle with it under braking or acceleration like you do in the game and it is far more forgiving when you do get the back end out. The car has lots more grip and balance in real life and I know it has more to give than I'll ever dare test.

I swear. I really F'ing suck at GT(exaggerating, but I'm average.), I can't believe so many above average drivers are struggling with this challenge.

The car's great, but in that test the fit it with Comfort Hard tyres more suited to hypermiling a Prius than thrashing a sports car round a track. If you buy that same Elise and try it it handles like a dream with the right rubber.

Is your real life Lotus set up exactly like it is in the game?

Was just about to say this.
The only things with less grip in that game would have to be snow tires. Seriously, the dirt tired have better grip on the road than those things.

x2

It is equipped with the worst tires of them all. On the Nordschleife event you get to drive a 300SL with medium semi-slick tires.
It's ridiculus.

Will its all stock and has to no ABS or TC in real life, which I turn off when trying to do the Top Gear Challenge. As said above the only difference is probably tires, although I have been practicing on the Top Gear track in the practice mode (I assume with different tyres) and it doesnt seem a whole lot easier.

Oh well practice makes perfect :)

Don't let the game put you off owning an Elise in real life. They are great 👍

So lets try to help people struggling with this:
* Make certain your car is straight when braking: for the first strong corner, this means for me: break softly before the light turn, straighten after turn, break lightly again.
* Do not lift your foot of the throttle = not balance shift and more stable
* Smooth lines, do not brutalise the car around corners

However I kept sliding through the Follow-through and the before last corner, but otherwise I was too slow. Be patient!

If all else fails, try with more controls on first and build down. But try not to get bad habits.

Yea. I know they're good cars. I drove it in Gran Turismo lol

probably the most fun event i have done in GT5 so far, and i thought it showed off (maybe in an exagerated way) how nimble and controlable the lotus is!!!!

Mid slide and overtaking another car i could easily change attitude and angle.

Loved it! And still play it over and over again!

I've driven a few Elises and I'm quite sure that if you put your foot to the floor in second gear coming out of a slow corner the rear tyres will light up. You'd be far more easy on the throttle in real life. It can also be easier to gather up in real life because there is so much more feedback to tell you are starting to slide. I absolutely love the Elise challenge with the TC control off. It rocks.

This was one of the very few challenges (completed all licences and special events up to level 20 with silvers or golds) that I had to turn the "skid recovery" thing on.

I admit this was kind of cheating, but otherwise I would just go crazy trying to pass this challenge. I highly recommend turning this on for people who can't pass this.
