That must be the problem.

Edit: finally! 28 and 1/2 hours with hotmail! That must be the problem. Got it earlier with gmail. Oh well.

I've got a hotmail aswell. And I set up a gmail last night. How do I get them to send me the link to gmail. I tried that but it says email address is wrong. Because my account is already set up with hotmail.

I'll be home from work in 8 hours so even I'd I do get the email I probably can't use it as someone else said it will expire lol. I'll probably never get to play again knowing my luck hahahha
 
I'm in the hotmail boat and have waited over 20hrs myself now. I'll be following the US way of doing it when I call PS Hotline at lunch today (have to go to work now), so there's no screw up's whatsoever. Besides, the guy said to call if it still hadn't arrived so I think I will.
 
I don't know what you guys are waiting on. I attempted to sign on on the PS3 and it told me my password was invalid and had to be changed. I entered my new password twice and it was ready to go.
 
Got my email!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried to sign in 3 times but I only got 1, so I guess they only sent one. Took them about 13 hours~~~~

This doesn't work if the account you're currently using was created on another ps3 system.
 
I'm waiting for my GTP_ account's email to arrive. Hotmail users won't get the email quickly, because my gmail-linked PSN email arrived immediately. And I had sent the GTP_ request half an hour before. And I'm not the only one.

I attempted to change my password yesturday at about 1:15pm, the email came and 1:09pm today but I was at school. So when i got home the link had already expired:grumpy:. Now I'm gunna have to wait another 24 hrs to recieve my second email...:indiff: This stinks.
 
I'm still waiting for my email 26 hours after being informed that it will be sent to me. Confound you Hotmail!
 
Took 38 hours for my e-mail to get through, and then it doesn't work.

"There is a problem resetting your password. Please click the link again or copy and paste the link into an Internet browser. "
 
More agrravation, thanks Sony; still waiting 48 hours!

My sub account is my GTP_ account (with all my progress arrrrrgh!)

Me. When I finally got through to them and explained that the e-mail address no longer existed on my secondary account, they agreed to sent the e-mail to my primary account e-mail address instead. I had to tell them the year and month I created the account and 5 or 6 of the usernames on the friends list of that account.

If so, how long did it take them to change it?
 
Still waiting...over 30 hours now, I think...
Now hotmail is having connection issues...
I think it's a conspiracy set to infuriate me...or am i being paranoid?
 
Going on 48hrs now and still no email to my hotmail account. Surprise that my secondary account with a google mail account got the email within 5mins of doing the request.
 
Why would it be a hotmail issue? My account is linked to a live.co.uk address (part of hotmail) and I got the service update email from the 30th no problem, as well as all other notifications including previous password updates.

Applied for an email almost 48 hours ago and still nothing.

I called Sony last night, they told me it could take up to 14 days to recieve email. I had heart attack and almost died.

I'm still waiting, and in 24 minutes I'm going to abuse the crap out of PS Hotline. I'm on Day 4 now (came back up Sunday, it's now Wednesday my time!) waiting for this 🤬 🤬 Email!!

So have I read right that people MONSTAR-1 and canderson19 have phoned Sony and got no-where??

If anyone has found another way please let us know. canderson19's post that it could take up to 14 days is not good news.

It may take a couple of hours for you to receive your password reset mail. If you do not receive your reset mail within a few hours, please request a new password from Sony.


Hotmail and Sony are actively monitoring this situation to help better ensure that all password reset requests go through as quickly as possible.

Hey I guess that's good news.

Sitting back and thinking about it, I can see how you can justify a security system reacting to a mass of Emails. Especially when the originator appears to be from a site that's been famously hacked and users details compromised.

Still my next thought is: Where's my Email??
