Hi I'm new to GT Planet, and I am part of the very small team which run the Motorsport Industry Association (www.the-mia.com): The leading global trade association and business network for the worldwide motorsport industry.

I was wondering if any of you are employed or involved in the industry too?

With the motorsport industry being a very 'small world', I'm hoping I'll be able to bump in to a few familiar faces!

Thanks for reading! :)

Well...kind of. I recently reverse-engineered a set of wheels for Illinois State University's solar car team, made them stronger. It's about the only motorsport-involved activity I've actually participated in, but I did learn a great deal.

Not at the moment but I might study aerodynamics at university but university isnt something im concerned about yet as I only left compulsory education in the summer. Get through A levels and then I will make a decision.

Hopefully soon, going to study Motorsport Technology at uni next year if all goes to plan.

For what it's worth fella's, if you'd like any advice on getting involved in motorsport, I'd be happy to offer some advice! :)

My Saturday job is at Puretech Racing.

I race in the championship there too, very cheap way of getting involved with racing. The entire championship only totalling about £750 for 10 rounds, its worth checking the place out!

Motorsport is a small world... I remember chatting with Nicky (if that's right?) while I was working at Autosport last year about BRD Sim and the (at the time) soon to be launched Puretech Racing. Which seems to be very popular now!!

Hmm, check my avatar.

You marshalls (and every other motorsport volunteer) deserve ALOT of respect for what you do. Without you motorsport would definitely not be what it is today, and you do it for the love of the sport! Hats off to you!!! 👍

Plus if you go marshalling for a day it counts towards your racing licence ;)

I've done go karting and that's about it, how ever my dad use to race in the hillclimbs and sprints in his Caterham Seven.

I'm starting to get involved, but not in the normal manner. I'm a motorsport photographer and things have been starting to pick up recently. It's quite difficult to get into!

Ultimate aim is to shoot accredited for an event like Le Mans, or even top-line GT racing just because it's what I'm into. But I'll shoot anything I'm paid to do!
