Don't you know the history of the whole human race? In all it's treachery and bloodiness?
Sure do. The last 2000 years of which has been the history of Christianity, which is to say the Western world. God is invoked to justify everything. Now Islam is doing it and we get all freaked out. Christianity had it's fun, now everybody is supposed to behave.

The fact is that we don't know. How do we know that halflives are constant? how do we know that over just 10 years that it's a constant rate? how do we know that Good didn't just make it so that the closer you got to the core the older rocks looked? You see? there are too many uncertainties to be sure of anything.
Because many, many, many independent experiments, done many, many, many times support those theories. That's the very nature of science - it continually analyzes things and discards what is not accurate while further refining what is accurate. If you can't live with the concept of "uncertainty" at all, then you're obviously not cut out to be a scientist, and you might just as well hold an unquestioned and unquestioning faith instead.

Of course it is, on the outside, possible that God faked all this stuff just to confuse us. However, once you open that possibility because it can't be proven that didn't happen, it is then equally possible that the Keebler Elves faked all this stuff to confuse us, instead.

DGB, I'm really not trying to beat a dead horse, but you keep saying "As a Christian, I believe the word of God is Truth". That's the crux of the biscuit - "as a Christian". Your concept of Truth is created by your frame of reference... and that's an oxymoron.

Uncalled for, Atilla. Knock it off and discuss this, or go away. This will be your only warning.

I understand that, but this can be a heated topic and I want it to stay calm between everybody. If it was in a joke topic I wouldn't have responded that way.

I'm not gonna argue this anymore, if you want to try and disprove God, you devote your life to it. Look for all the evidence you can get your little hands on and tell me what happens. I just ama finding it hard to believe that a comment on how modern problems with the earth and solar system are beginning to coincide with end times prophecies in the Bible. Now it's exploded! (how does this always happen to me?)

Just curious; could you be more specific on the solar system aspect? You explained the earth well, but the solar system seems to be lacking an argument.

But Christians should be open minded to not being Christians?

That's somewhat hypocritical isn't it?

Sorry I don't believe in earth stranded spirits or "goshes"?
or ghosts or aliens or Voodoo or witches or goblins or munchkins......

Nobody with a brain would bother trying to "disprove" god. But it is hard not to notice how empirical investigation repeatedly casts doubt on the whole idea, and consistently calls it into question. The reverse, however never happens, and never will.

Before you have to disprove that something is true, you should have some evidence that that thing is true.

For example, let's say that there is a chair that is invisible and intangible... imperceptible, in your room right now. Try to disprove that that is true.

You can't. But you don't have any evidence to support the theory so it's moot.

What sorta sucks is that I feel completely and utterly neutral...... stuck right in the middle,.... one part of me says there has to be a greater being, a reason,.. the other half is similar to snoop's comment,... we're just here, its just a coincidence.

But either way,... on-topic, I'mm 100% sure 'to myself' that their is no end prophecies and I dont think anyone will ever know,... I dont believe in psychics who claim to see into the future, I know that for sure, LOL.

Exactly! Mountainbiking/downhilling is so much fun! What bike do you have?

What do you have? I have a 2002 Giant Yukon.

Personally, we've been seeing signs for a looooong time. Some could say that the Anti-Christ was back during the Great Schism, others say otherwise. I'm Catholic, so my views are different from many others, including many Catholics. My idea is this: Live the moment, don't get caught up with Armageddon. Your Armageddon will probably be different than that of the World's. For all you know, you could be hit by a drunk driver an hour after you read this. That's why you live the moment, be spontanious, and don't get caught up with "It's the end of the world!!!" because you never know when you might end up getting struck by lightning or have a stroke. All you should have to do is make sure that you're comfortable with how things will be after you die, whether you're concerned about going to Heaven or wherever, or if your family will have enough money to cover the funeral expenses.
