Just took the Nürburgring 4h endurance. To make it a bit more interesting I took the Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 race car, and to make a long story short I placed 3rd (amazing race though, lots of overtakes and fighting for every second). However, as the countdown reached 0 I was still on lap 27, while the top two cars were on lap 28, some 3 minutes ahead of me. And as I passed the finish line I was much to my surprise the winner of the race.

It seems like if you are less than a lap behind the leader, and you are the first to cross the finish line after the countdown has ended, you will be the winner of the race. Anyone else seen this bug?

That bug has been described before somewhere in the Nurburgring 4h Report thread I believe. Did you actually get money for winnings though? Still, too bad it seems the Giulia TZ2 can't win this event. :( I would love to see my favourite car in the game trashing my least favourite - the S2k Turbo. :D

It's not a bug. It's GT5 deciding that you're a top guy for staying until the end, even though you didn't finish in first and therefore you deserve to be awarded the gold trophy anyway. :D:tup:

A game with emotions, nice.

I saw it briefly, I was leading by a lap but waited by the line, then the car behind me passed and crossed the line and suddenly went up to 1st, It gave me a huge scare but sorted itself as I finished, the results go by number of laps so if you wait long enough you'll have your win taken of you when the car that deserves to win comes through.

I had the same thing happen in that race with B-Spec. My drivers were in 6th when they were first to cross when time ran out. Got the winnings for 1st place because the game exited before anyone could finish the lap they were on.

Does it work the other way around? Say I cross the line at the 3 hour 59 minute mark, and the second/third place AI crosses it after the clock strikes 4 hours would the AI win? 'Cause my PS3 is flying STRAIGHT out the window if that were to happen.

Once you cross the line it'll fix the positions back again.

Opposite happened to me, my car crossed the line with literally a second still left on the clock so my guy had to do another lap in annoyance, while the lapped traffic all started slowing down after I crossed.

I still was the winner though.

So this means you can just park your car on the side of the track for four hours and as long as you cross the line before any one else when the timer reaches zero you win?

Then you have to stop the other "racers" totally, and not let them get 1 lap.

No, you can win even if you're in 3rd (or whatever place) as long as you finish on the same amount of laps... I think that was the point of this "glitch"...

That sounds nifty, you should test it. 💡

It happened to me also, although I was second crossing the line but 1 minute something behind. But that was months ago. I was devastated as I messed up the race running out of fuel (cockpit view, no hud, fuel gauge not working) but soon after, I noticed the win and said to myself... God bless GT5! Money and XP to the pocket.

If that is the case then the 2 24h enduros may not need wait for the saves :)

But if you're one lap down I think you do not get the win. And I am sure someone already tested it and we would already know.

But the game is forcing you to finish with less laps complete than the leaders would have if it let them finish properly. You are already finishing a lap down.

Actually not, they are starting lap 28 when you just completed lap 27, it is not a lap down, but it is a glitch nontheless.

Anyway if the race is hot I do not really care if I win or not eventhough is a 4h endurance. It is not a disgrace to lose against the AI, it is a matter of how challenging you want to compete.

How is that not being a lap down? The leaders would complete 28 laps compared to your 27. That's the exact same outcome that them lapping you on the track would produce.

Exept in GT5 you will enter lap 28, while the AI is still on 28 (and doesn't finish), and you'll get the win... Even if you're 2 miles behind the leader AI car...

Get it?

True if they were allowed to finish but it is a glitch and then right at that moment you are not a lap down, what I mean is that I think we can not park the car if just before the 4h limit you are already a lap down.
