Just been attempting the 4 hour Tsukuba race, whilst watching a film on my computer at the same time to ease the pain. 3 and a half hours in, I had to pause the game to click for the next part of the film (watching it on YouTube), and somehow my thumb has moved the curser to the right without me knowing. I look back at the TV and press X straight away to continue racing, only to find the screen go black and the start of the race appear again. Obviously, my thumbs thinks faster than my brain does, and I didn't have time to tell myself that pressing the button would send me into a mad rage throwing the controller half way across the room and hitting the radiator. At least it was only 3.5 hours. I probably wouldn't be here to tell the story if I'd quit 23 hours in on the later races.

:( So yeah, Kaz, please put an option to confirm a restart for us idiots? Ta.

That seriously burns. I feel for you. I wish I had time to run an extended event though.

I did this once on the 9 hr B-spec Tsukuba race...I was about 5ish hours in, and I came back in the room to check on the race. I hit A (not knowing that the B-button was pressed when I set the controller down), and it instantly exited out of the race...

What...a...bummer...

i've done this twice, would love a option like this. I feel your pain OP

This is my second time, but the first was only on a 10 lap race round Suzuka. About 2 hours in on this race, I actually thought to myself "I hope I don't do that button thing again, that would suck baaad". Moron. I'm over it now anyway... kind of.

I'm locking my controller away when I do B-Spec. Not taking any chances ;)

Maybe a confirm button can be part of Polyphony's 'every week, of every month' updates!

+1. Been there. Pushed my analog stick to the side, and at the same time rested my foot on the gas pedal, which registered as X...

I've done this a few times now but only ever near the start of a race, what I do now if I pause the game at all is press Start instead of X, I even tested it by pausing a race and moving the anologue stick over to 'restart' and pressed start to continue instead of pressing X

I'm sure B-spec Bob was just as ticked-off thinking about having to start over.:sly::sly:

And yet this sort of thing could be avoided if someone at PD had a brain and put in a save game function when you pit.

I felt paranoid that I would do it during the GVS 300km Race, so I always stopped and took a break in a left turn.

Making sure my thumb doesn't move to the right. :D

Or just allow you to swap with your B-Spec drivers instead of forcing the sub-games to be separate.

That was one of the best features of GT4 and I can't for the life of me understand its omission from GT5.

This is kind of ironic, I'm not meaning to generalize, but many have been complaining about PD's choice to confirm purchases of cars/parts, installations of said parts, etc…

But yet we want a confirmation notice for this. Sheer irony.

Doesn't matter what game I've played, but when there is a confirmation selection that I just know I won't need, it can be frustrating. I also know that on the odd occasion that it has saved me from doing something silly I'm like 'damn I'm glad they put that in'.

And vice versa.

Yeah that was pretty great. I wish we had that option, at least for the endurance races if nothing else...in both game modes.

I think there should be save points in these enurance races, for example, the 24hr race should have six save points, meaning that you can save the race six times. So you can do something like this- save1-4hr save 2-5hr etc.. i dont mind doing the 4 or 5 hour race but 24hr is a little crazy, i just dont have the time for it

Back up! You need to do all the endurance race...at the one time :( :(

Is this true?!

Yea this happen to be when i was about to win a few long races after i paused to go pee. I was like S.O.B

oh my 🤬 god!! I was like 80 laps done out of 90 at Laguna seca and paused to talk to my dad. I accidentally pressed left on the d-pad while picking up the controller and hit restart. I almost broke the 🤬 controller.
