Endurance races..

I just ran the "Passage to Colleseo" in my Spoon S2000 Racer.
That car is SLOW. But it handles like it's on rails. I have to admit I enjoyed the race. I never lapped the #2 car. I won by 40+ seconds. Most of that was on pit strategy.
I could have gone out there in one of my F1's and killed the competition. But what would have been the reward in that.
Plus, it gave me a reason to actually use the Spoon S2000 in an important race.

Good work Gil :) What cars do they use in that race anyway?

i agree 100% with you Gil, its an EXTRMELY solid car to drive yet it puts along like a power wheels...im interested...what tire strategy did you end up using?

Read Der Alta's writeup on the Writeups board. If it isn't posted there, follow the link in his signature to the Compendium. He's always good for information on what the AI do and how you can beat them competitively.

I love racing, especially when there is a tough battle between 2 or more cars :), not for just 3 or four laps, but for alot of the race. I love stock and slightly modded cars, thats what I have been using mostly. Im going to do the rest of the Enduro's this week :D...

I ran T3's and pitted in about every 10-12 laps. Most laps were run 1'32-1'35 range.
I had the Audi S4, Fiat Coupe, Renault Clio Sport, Alfa 156, and one other car I can't remember.
The Clio was the only competition. If I had been running t4's or t5's it would have been much closer. But then with more grip I would have run a bit faster.

BTW I use medium-slicks or solid slicks for racing in enduros. The soft ones can be a pain in the ass because just after a few laps, the tires start wearing down quickly and mortifyingly. So slicks are a better choice for endurance racing.

Endurances are fun, except the roadster one. Racing in a normal roadster is hell, 1. Because its so damn slow........ its not much of a race in >150 HP cars, and 2. No diversity. Cant tell whos in 2nd, 6th whatever. The rest are great however.

Yeah, that race was a hella hard piece of ****. I tried to find a fast untuned stock Roadster but there was none. Makes me wanna go insane *drops body to the floor*

when I beat the pollyphony normal car cup (wich I ran 4 times... I won all the cars that are awarded there in that coup) I used the Honda NSX (IMPRESSIVE habdling... like a street F1... use it on deep forest II and its like... OMFG!!!), the Cobra (it just leaves them!! impressive torque and acceleration... its invincible... and helluva car... beautifull to watch the replays too), the grand sport corvette (little slow, but, OMG, the handling!!!) and... hell, I dont even remember... oh, yeah!! I used the cobra again!! mwahaha loved that car. as for the non series races, I used a different car in each track. I used the Z06, the viper... the lotus elise, a rx7, the griffith, and, hell, dont remember what else. but it was cool as hell.

Currently running PD right now. I am using a Grand Sport, so I know I am cheesing this one. I think the best was with the Camaro SS. It kept a close race the whole time. I think I am going to try this in a S2000 shortly here. I just ran a 1'22.134 on Midfield 2 with the Grand Sport. I should have busted into the 1'21.xxx, but I did not have enough laps to do it in.

err. edit - I forgot to mention that is on T2s, 0 ASM, and 0 TCS.

With 6 down and 4 to go, the PD is proving fun but mostly a blowout in the Cobra R. I just won Apricot Hill - which I've decided is my favorite track - by 31.xxx" over the 350Z.

i prefer to use the fastest car possible and attempt to make a new personal record for the track.. dont get me wrong, i like a challenge too.... but before i got 100% i used the f1 car a lot and just tried to beat my times... now i'm trying to win all the cars i want and dont have by using underpowered/stock cars...

Yeah it is a total domination with the Grand Sport. I am actually thinking of restarting it with that S2000 after watching the replay. I am thinking if I use possibly T3 or T4 with the Grand Sport, I can pit with a different strategy and maybe make a better race.

Well, to blow through the game that is a good idea, but if you want to really have the most out of the replay value you should go into the race with a car that is not only underpowered, but the long-shot.

when i get a game i like to beat it.. not necessarily as fast as possible, but i end up playing a lot and beating it pretty quick... i enjoy cars so i dont think i'll have a problem with the replay value, but i know what you mean.... i wouldn't suggest it for people that dont really like cars and racing..

Now using cars you never use or thought to use regardless of what their potential is, now that could be real good to the replay value.

same here. i mean, i like racing, but not in really slow cars, i dunno how you guys can do all those races again tho, i started the game again, ive finished all of rally, beginner, and amateur. i started dream car in pro with the polyphony 001 and after two races i jus had to turn the ps2 off, it was so boring.

that's cuz it gets lonely being up front with no competition....lately with the racing that i've been doing, if you are constantly having to push the car to it's limits and go AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, no matter how slow/fast the car is, as long as you've got headlights in your rear view mirror and your concentrating on staying in front at all costs.....20 laps goes by as if it were 7 or 8.....you should try it! also the adrenaline rush is incredible!

eh.. maybe, its just most cars dont handle well for me. like after driving the audi TT i cant drive 4WD, it just had such bad understeer. and i cant drive FF cars now because of the beetle cup car. FR's are slowly becoming less favoured because i have to do the skyline races. all i have left is one of my favourite cars the ruf rgt and MR's.

I have beaten the first race in the PD cup with a Stock Elise on t3's. Definitely a win on Pit strategy as I only won by about 10-12 seconds. I quit because I didn't think I'd have the "oomph" to pull it off later in the series.
I am seriously thinking about running the TM enduro in the Elise. On T2- or -T3 tires I should win Pitting every 12 to 15 laps...

Auto 1,
Have you tried setting the differential so only 10% of the power goes to the front wheels? I changes the handling for the better in most of the 4WD cars. The Lancer is the only big exception to that rule.

If your doin the Normal Tuning Endurance u sould use the nissan R390 road car. I went threw the whole race without changing my tires once. And i still kicked all there asses!
