hi guys, was wondering what car you think would we challenging to use in the trial mountain endurance (stock cars only)...i dont wanna lap the other cars..i just want a good competitive race...and also for the other enduros..any ideas guys?

cheers,ben

I haven't run it, but I believe from a previous thread that most of the competition seems to run around 300 hp. Do a search of this forum for "Trial Mountain enduro" and you should turn up a good thread from a week or so ago.

And, might I add, welcome to GTP - have fun here! I applaud your decision to try a competitive car. Too many people here see the Enduros as a chore to be done with as quickly as possible.

:toyota: GT1 Road car or :nissan: R390 Road Car.... see prize car lists for where they can be won

How many Credits do you have?

Oh yea and welcome farkkk to GT Planet

He said he wanted a challenge.... With those cars it's a sunday drive. I personally used an Aston Martin Vanquish. It was too powerful to have a challenge.

thanks guys...from those past threads ive decided to use either a wrx, evo or an rx-7...

got any ideas for the others? or are the cars in them all different?

I have a race-tuned Evo VI that I'm pretty fond of. It won the Seattle marathon comfortably enough without being a blowout. It wasn't fast enough for the Super Speedway enduro, so I used the Tommy ZZII there. A well tuned Evo is ideal for any of the twisty enduros. Quick enough, and nice and light on its feet. Pretty easy on tires, too, whihc means you can beat faster cars with pit strategy.

Edit: Forgot to add; for the Roadster (Spec Miata) Enduro, I used a second-gen LS with an oil change and super slicks.

What sort of car will it take to win the Speedway, not a cakewalk/rubberband trick but if I want to drive and win myself?

Thanks,

VdrSain

I did mine with the Vantage V8,hehehe =D!I smoked their asses by a lil over 20 seconds too, lol! (well...the Z Concept anyways =P)

VdrSain:

I'll take that as a typo and you really meant 1'41.000 consitent laps.

2 hours = 120 minutes. 1'41 = 1.683 minutes. 120/1.683 = 71.3 laps. Rounded up to 72 laps.

This means that you'll be right on the edge of a competitive race. I ran it in the Lancer Evo VI with an average lap of 1'41.9xx. So you should do fairly well.

Remember: Smooth, clean laps.

Good luck

AO: VdrSain was referring to the Super Speedway Enduro, I believe, not the original question of the Trial Mountain enduro.

VdrSain: First and foremost, welcome to GTP! For the Speedway Enduro, I ran the ZZII on T2s, which turned in consistent 34"-35" laps. With too many pit stops I averaged 38"/lap... and crushed the competition. Over 100 laps I finished 9 laps ahead of the Motorsport Elise. It averaged (including pit stops) about 42"/lap. Doing some mental math, you could add 10% to my lap time and be in the running against that car. Meaning that individual lap times of 39" or so, and a pit strategy of about every 15 laps (use T2s), would win it for you with out being a blowout.

Good luck! And I suggest a look around on the Writeups board. Set your view prefernces to "View All" or at least "Past 120 Days" because that board doesn't get as much traffic. There's an awful lot of detailed information there to be found.

For trial mountain I used a V12 Vanquish.

If I were to do it again, I would probably choose the Nissan 350Z

PS Do you say it "Three-Fifty-Zed" or "Three-Fifty-Zee"

I say "Three-Fifty-Zed" but I think Americans say it differently. Or, for all I know, you call it "Thirty-Five-O-Zee"!!

PS Do you say it "Three-Fifty-Zed" or "Three-Fifty-Zee"

I've always been partial to "Thirty Five Ounce" which of coarse started as "24 Oz." This obviously shows how old I am. We kinda like them "75 Oil" Bimmers too.

I used the XJ220 becuase I wanted something easy. Nice car to drive for 2 hours thought; quick and handles good. You could try the Cobra, I used it for the Polyphony and it was fun and decent on tires.(even with sliding almost constantly)

I second using the NSX, the Acceleration will help you kkeep in the race, even if the other cars have more power than you.
Or a Supra, lol

I think a good car to use would be a car around the 70 - 100 thousand dollar mark.
