Or if you're 13 or under..

im not to worried about how "COOL" they are, i just find them easier. plus most of my friends have lots of different model imports, so i just get used to it

No no - it's a language that people who concern themselves with trying to sound educated about cars understand. Typical people don't concern themselves with codes, especially when it takes more effort to memorize the exact years and engine choices of different cars.

It's fine to know it just for the sake of knowing it, you should know all you can about YOUR car.

why? why not I mean you shouldn't be stupid about your car just in case for some reason outta the blue someone asks you. Trust me its happen. I've been asked what the suspesnsion code on my Blazer, I knew it was a ZQ8 but still someone asked me. I guess its one of my things so I don't feel stupid. BUt hey I feel stupid all the time.

Yeah, but I hate all my cars. I prefer the Isuzu Impulse - sex on wheels.

I'm just odd, most custom blazer owner love there trucks way to much. I've come to the conclusion we are a cult.

Not like the Isuzu Impulse people, I take it?

I'm not even sure what a Isuzu Impluse is

Slightly better-looking Isuzu version of the Geo Storm sold from 1990 until somebody gained some sense in 1992.

Like I said, sex on wheels.

I saw one of your Blazers the other day, the wheelbase looks really tiny.

oh I typed Isuzu Impluse in to Yahoo and got this

*-

Looks like a Schrocko (sp)

But ya the Blazer Xtremes wheel base is tiny, its the same length as the S-10 with a normal cab I do believe.

they were also sold in Australia as holden piazza turbo
didnt sell to well

Why does everyone around here talk about there cars in an engine code or chassie(sp) code. I don't say I have a L3U, I say I have a V6 Vortec 4300 on a short bed S-Truck frame. I'm just wondering because I don't think many people know what the hell people are talking about.

Also why don't people use cubic inch any more, I mean my truck will always be a 262 not a 4.3. Just another question.

Then why do you refer to it as a 'V6 Vortec 4300' when the 4300 obviously represents milliliters?

I DON'T GET IT!!!

What gets me is that you don't agree with using engine codes, yet saying "Yea, I got a 262 in my truck" to anybody is not a problem.

GM calls it a Vortec 4300, I didn't make the rules and saying I have a 262 is just something I do. Other Blazer guys get it and if I was talking to someone on fimlar I would say a 4.3L V6 so they were like Huh???

M5 I guess I drive a compact truck, I'm so excited...wait no I'm not.

ok this is how i see it, its good to know all the info, and codes on your car, but some people dont care, they dont wanna hear complicated codes and stuff. first explain it so they can understand what you re talking about, then talk about codes and stuff if you want.

most people in the car would should understand 262cu, cause its a measurement most people can understand, like 2.0 liters, or 3.0 liters, not like 3sgte, or sr20det. you should first explain in way that anyone in the car world can understand, then explain the codes.

Ya once you tell someone and they can get it down there is no problem to ramble off the codes.

Get it right! 4.3 Liters in 262.4021 cubic inches. Don't shortchange yourself by saying you have a two-sixty-two. Say you have a two-sixty-two-point-four-oh-two-one.

Then slowly put on your straightjacket and walk into the big padded room.

👍

Well, technically you shortchanged yourself by buying a Blazer in the first place, but you may as well get that extra .4012 cubic inches if you can.

What would you rather have me bought? I got a close to fully loaded truck for only 17 g's. Thats not to bad.
