Oh come on people. How can you be complaining about money in a game where you can let a computer driver win millions while you sleep or do other things. I made 7 mil yesterday by Bobs hands. The stuff just flows like water.

This is a huge change coming from Forza3 where you had to race for every penny.

Plus, like people mentioned earlier, you don't need to restore the engine chassis every 5,000 miles or so. Just check your cars milage on the spec page so you can be sure you don't need to drop that kind of cash unnecessarily.

In Forza 3, you could hire a driver, so it was the same there.
Here, you have to race twice as long for the same reward
In forza, you forfeited half of the race earnings to the driver but it took the same amount of time.

My X1 B spec enduro car is starting to deteriorate quite badly now.

It's done 12,000 miles, and made only 1437bhp with an oil change after my last Le Mans 24h race. In addition, max speed with Bob behind the wheel is down to 225mph on the Mulsane (40mph down on the 1st LM I ran)... the traction control is flashing most of the way down the straights.

He still won the last 24h race by 140 odd laps though.

did you give it a carwash? giving my veryron a carwash after a ton of races cut a few seconds off of my bspec driver's laptimes.

I've got two Formula GT's. One I rebuilt the engine and chassis, and have only driven it in about 5 races myself. The other is for my B-spec guys - they use it in endurance event after endurance event. I think they've put 11,000 miles on it now. I changed the oil in it, and it has 5 horsepower less than the other one.

If 5 horsepower is worth a half-million engine rebuild to you...

To make 7 million you'd have to do the Dream Car Championship 7 times, at about an hour and a half each time. Sure, it's easy, just check in every 20 minutes or so to start another race. But it's hardly fun. Especially since you can't actually use your PS3 for anything all day.

McLaren F1
Engine overhaul - 380.000cr.
Restore regility - 500.000cr.

WTF? Come on! It's a game...

Its not asking you to spend your real money .

So far I have a Toyota Minolta and a FGT and they both want 500000 for engine overhauls :scared:. I won the Minolta so it was new and the max power after putting the bigger turbo on it was 1040 bhp when it drops I change the oil and it go's back up'to 1040 after. They should put the option to do it yourself in the game :dopey: it would save a lot of credits .

I put 12,000 miles on my GT F1 in B-spec and about 1000 on it in A-spec. The car started handling awful and was unable to keep the thing going through the turns properly; did the chassis restore and the difference it made was immense.

This was after about 13,000 miles tho... so I dunno what that "magic number" is concerning miles.

Obviously this is empirical, and I doubt we will find what factors diminish what function at what mileage unless someone has a direct feed to PD.

This is precisely what bothers me so much. No onoe actually knows definitively how this works. That's damned annoying. I'd have little problem spending the money after a given period of time if I knew it was going to make a difference. However PD expect you to take a suck it & see approach which kinda goes against the grain for me.

trust. It does make a difference.

 No, I haven't tried that... I'll give it a go!

Though still winning LM 24h by 140+ laps.
