Well, it is a weird topic, but hear me out. A little something I noticed last night that is strange with my non RM ZR1 with Semi Racing Exhaust.

So I am running around a few courses in the Supercar Seasonal like SS5 and Tokyo R246. I seem to notice that during some portions of the courses that the engine sound becomes less pronounced as it normally does. The strange thing is if I look behind me and switch my view back, it seems to sort of remedy itself.

Have anyone of you heard of glitches with car sound like this or could it just be this particular setup with this car? I tried the other exhausts and they didn't seem to have this change in engine sound. Although the Semi Racing exhaust sounds the best on the ZR1, by far compared to the others.:dopey:

Does it happen when it starts getting louder all of a sudden and then, the noise drops?

I don't know what the problem is, but the more questions the better.

Yes, it is exactly like this. It seems to be loud then kind of gets muted as it goes through certain parts of the track. Looking behind me seems to make it normal (louder) again.

It could be the TV settings, but no. So it really is possible that it's a glitch thinger majigger.

I'm not sure if I've experienced this or not because it's happened to me on more than one occasion, not in GT5 and not on the same TV.

It's just the Corvette? Have you tried others? Not just the exhausts

The weird thing is, it seems to just be that specific car with that specific semi racing exhaust. All the other exhausts sound fine on the car, but this one has variation in its sound.

I have had other instances where a car might sound different than normal and switching from looking back to front again seems to return it to the way it sounded. I think I am confused on why this happens. It is an issue that is entirely too hard to explain.

If I know what you mean, is there a slightly wind-sounding thing muting out the engine? If that happens, just change the view and it'll be fixed.

I would be pretty upset if I were you. I mean you're committed to that car. Your name says it all lol. If it doesn't bother you, I'd say just stop thinking about it. There really isn't anything that can be done.

But, if you don't look behind when this occurs, does it stay quiet the whole time?

Yes, yes exactly. It seem to fix itself when I switch views. Strange indeed and I am glad I'm not the only one to notice this.

I am pretty darn pissed, lol. I love this car man and when this happens, it is a bit irritating. J/K though, I still love the hell out of this car.

But, no it won't stay quiet, it kind of auto corrects as I drive through the course and downshift so I guess at least I don't have to switch views every time lol.

I have since noticed this issue on other cars now, some more pronounced than others. I guess my mind is sort of "looking for it" now and it is annoying. Damn OCD....I hate it, haha. I think the best thing I can do at this point is to just ignore it and play the freaking game.

Could it be certain parts of those tracks mentioned. What I mean is, some tracks are open and some are walled in like the Tokyo track, sound echoing could be effected... Does this make any sense?

I noticed after the latest update that while watching replays the engine sounds go almost completely quiet depending on where the camera is positioned around the car. This what you are talking about?

No, but I have noticed that too after the update with engine noise on replays.

It is almost like the wind noise (as C-ZETA said) sort of over powers the engine noise to the point of being quite noticeable. The only way to remedy it on some cars is to switch from look behind view and back again. It is strange and really hard to explain, so that is the best I can describe it..
