As many of you wheel + clutch users know, we are able to "stall" the cars and get the engine to shutoff.

A simple little immersion enhancer would be to link the "Enginestartup.wav" sound file played when selecting a car from your garage to the actual in-game environment.

The ability to shutoff the engine for clutch users has always been in the game since day 1 so I'm surprised this hasn't been done yet by PD after all the patches.

As of now, if you were to start the engine in the in-game environment and then view that in a replay, you would hear this weird "distortion boom" sound.
:ouch:

That's because the engine start sounds at the garage are far too good, compared to the actual in-game sounds.

How i wish that the in-game sounds were comparable with the garage engine start...

I give kudos to PD that they still are tweaking the sounds bit by bit as patches come along. However; Yes, I (and many) would agree that the actual in-game engine sound is still PD's weak-point.

However, of that sound - I would say the idle noise is the best noise in the whole audio spectrum of the engine sound for the majority of the cars.

I.E.: American V8s, Mazda 787B

And I'm sure this would still be better than that filler sound "distortion boom" that is played (listen to the replays).

PD does seem to be tweaking the sound levels every other update or so.. This would be a great addition- AND if they cranked the levels of the exhaust notes up about 50%.

-cause we all know that beautiful exhaust note is in there, just do a license test where the camera closely rotates around the vehicle before you launch and touch the gas. It's aural bliss.
