engine swap kia

Im trying to find out what engine i can out in a 2002 kia rio i currently have a 1.5 ltr but can not find one but ther are plenty of 1.8 or 1.6 our there .

The only worthwhile swap would be something much bigger than that, and even then, it's in a Kia...

Save up your money and buy something with a better chassis. Ex: Anything. I really don't think it's worth it to put a new engine in a Kia Rio.

You don't need thw VVTi, just get a standard 1MZ, put trhow some cams in, along with new injectors, and supercharge it.

Otherwise I think a B18 swap would be practical and would give pretty decent power and performance.

I actually encourage this notion. I for one absolutely love the sound of someone wasting many thousands of dollars on something as undeniably rubbish as a Kia Rio 1.5. Lots of entertainment value.

Around here you can pick up B16/B18s for around £800 or less even. It does make sense to buy a new car but he's asking about engines so that's what we're talking about.

After that, he will need a harness, a fuel pump, an ECU, remanufactured axles.... or better yet, a full front subframe swap, and perhaps a PhD in engine electronics to make it work... or at least a Master's Degree if he can live with non-functional gauges.

And it's going to be in an 02 Rio. The current Rio is hot sauce, but the 02 is like Banana Ketchup. Whatever you do to it, it'll always be Banana Ketchup. The best swap for a Rio is to chuck the entire car and make a deposit on a secondhand Fit.
