Xbox??? Who is this Xbox??
Hey guys,
I have an English ISU project due in May for the novel A Clockwork Orange

I want to make some sort of creative textbook/magazine like report for the ISU with pictures, graphs, etc. I was wondering what program you guys would recommend on using. I will be binding the report.

Programs I've considered so far:

MS Publisher 2013
Adobe Indesign

Smart Notebook.

The free version is not so great but if you want the full version it can cater to all of your needs. It's like PS crossed with MS Publisher but simpler and easier to use.

If you need it I can lend you my license code for it (the full paid version), if I still have it, which isn't* illegal!

*For AUP reasons.

InDesign is what I've always used, I don't actually know of any other such application. It's easy to pick up the basics and being widely used as it is means tutorials aren't hard to find. If you're just using it for a one-off project I'd personally recommend it.

Smart notebook seems a bit too... notebook-ey. I'm wanting to make something like a textbook. As for Indesign, it seems a bit hard to use, no?

Not really, you tell it how many pages you want and of what size and then you make your content boxes for images, text, solid colours and stuff. To be fair I haven't used it since 2009 and I already knew Photoshop and Illustrator, but other people who didn't picked it up quickly. I'm sure there'll be tutorials everywhere but with any software there's a balance between ease of use and creative freedom, usually the things that are less hand-holdy the more you can do with them and that's what InDesign is, basically.
