I'll try and get around to checking yours tomorrow ripping_silk if no-one's done it overnight.

I sent my submission at 11:59pm GMT. The rules show the contest ending at 23:59pm GMT; there is no specificity around whether the time has to be submitted or actually in your inbox by then. With any level of respect for your fellow competitors, you would accept anything that had a timestamp of 12:00am GMT or earlier, knowing that a delay of a few or many seconds could occur while transmitting the message. Instead, you choose to interpret the rule to the detriment of one of your fellow racers, and completely nullify everything they put into the competition, based on your (negatively) chosen way of spinning the rules.

To reiterate- the rule has no clarity around whether the submission has to be sent or received at 11:59. You had a choice to make, and neither would be perceived (from a technical, dispassionate standpoint) as more valid the other, so why choose the one that effectively characterizes a fellow racer as worthless, completely nullifying every moment of their lives that was dedicated to the event? To top it off, you're in the competition and you have first-hand knowledge of what it is like to compete; and you have an internet connection, and first-hand knowledge of the fact that data typically takes a few seconds to transmit.

EL_ZISSOU submitted a time too late.

If you choose to leave your entry submission to the very last minute, then you have to accept the fact that there may be delays is your message being posted.
A message is 'posted' when it arrives at the server, that gives it a timestamp, not when it leaves your computer.
The rules are VERY clear. Anything after 23:59:59 is not accepted.

Submit to ripping_silk through GTPlanet private message.
You need to include your lap time and your psn username.
You can only submit your time once.
The Deadline is 23:59(GMT) 2nd of April
Replay deadline is 23:59(GMT) 4th of April

After another look at the rules, I have bolded everything that pertains to submitting. Nowhere does it specify that the deadline pertains to the timestamp or the receipt of the laptime- only the submission.

I submitted on time and it was stamped a few seconds later. If you want to change the rules to have some reference to "receipt" or "timestamping", I recommend waiting until the next round to do so; not changing the rule and making it retro-active for a round that has already closed.

It says 2359, not 0000hrs. YOU brought up the 'timestamping' issue not me.
Your time is not submitted until it has been 'posted'.
I recommend that if you are participating in the next round, you allow sufficient time for your message to be posted.

Just looking to get everyone's consent before I include all of this in my autobiography - great material!

But I'm leaving out the part where DK completely crushed all my hopes with 0.001 seconds - after all, it is MY autobiography.

EDIT: I'll do the outstanding reviews and post mine later tonight.

GTP_CarlPKY and ripping_silk replays are clean and green.

Here is my NTSC replay.

Yeah it was a dual-carraigeway with my brother.👍

Oh well, as long as your were with a fully qualified instructor plus your vast driving experience, i'm sure you posed no threat to any sensible road users. Lunacy.
