urrently I'm driving the Honda Integra Type R (DC5).... this car is a monster... really I love it... it goeas like hell...jsut wanted to say this :sly:
Yeah an VipFreak what does you post want to say us?

I think Viper is trying to say the game is crap....lol

It's not crap but IT IS a huge disappointment IMHO.

Well he tries but, what is that ? A dialouge between him and Mr. X... wow
physics sucked ass. o_O
come on this is like if I said, today at the bus station I met a stranger and he said Enthusia sucks... wow... reliable information... but ok nobody has to like Enthusia... it is certainly not perfect... but no dissapointment for me. maybe sometimes people get into hypes and forget reality over it...
It is a great experience for real drivers and the physiks are outstanding... ok the life mode is not that motivating maybe like the GT mode once was ( GT4 is not motivating either, because it is (in general) easy as hell )...back in old GT2 days...

I have the chance to play EPR till next tuesday. I played for a while today, and I can honestly say that I'm considering NOT buying it. It is not bad, Konami did a good job on their first attempt to make a racing game but it is not what I expected. The physics are better than GT4 but that is it. GT4's physics is not really up to date (old physics engine and EPR has a newer physics engine) but I like GT4 as a whole much more especially the graphics. I don't like watching replays in EPR and I really like the replays of GT4.
GTR is still THE game!!!! :) Only we could have GT4 graphics for GTR. Or GT4 with EPR physics.
:)

Is GTR a PC only game or is it available on PS2 or Xbox?

On Enthusia - the more I play it the more I like it. Very flawed system though - its easy to work up the rankings by sticking to races your familiar with, which sort of encourages you sacrifice variety!

Absolutely, really realistic great racing game. Go to http://www.gtr-game.com for more details.

As for Enthusia... Its fun, but it feels a bit sanitised compared to gt4, not quite as wild a ride. When I go off the road, instead of crashing, I'm watching a few enthu points drop off the bar in the bottom left corner. For a game that pertains to be realistic, it seems a bit confused really.

The actual driving is fun though especially drifting etc.

Is it worth to buy it?

Well considering I have the game but can't play it I still fully endorse it. :dopey:

It's kinda funny how insulting the Intro is to me and them. I mean it's great and all and then we go back to the stone ages when we get to the actual game.

Need For Speed is to arcadish to play with a wheel

Ever play any racing game in the arcade? 99% of them are arcad racers and the wheel is what makes them enjoyable. NFSU2 is more fun with a wheel than a controller. You may need to play it more, drifting is fun with it. I have the PC version and its a blast to play with the DFP, i use 270 degrees.

Yeah, you + 5 friends playing Daytona USA on the arcades. Those were the days! 👍

not only is it worth it, it's an essential purchase. BUY IT.

...if you have a DFP.

otherwise...stick with GT4 I guess. you'll be missing out though.

Enthusia is awesome with or without a wheel. The physics are strange at first, but that's kinda how I'd expect most cars to act at 100+ mph with their soft, ride-friendly suspensions and stock street tires. Control gets much tighter after you adjust the suspension and "level up" the cars. Enthusia's gettin much more seat time than Forza from me. Most definitely pick it up.

playing without the wheel ruins it for me because the physics are too nuanced for a controller. I love this game, and definitely prefer it to both GT4 and Forza for sheer driving pleasure (which is what its all about really, right?), but the DS2 is weak in the knees with this game.

The odds system really pounds the A-spec point system. It has use and it changes they way you have to play the game to advance on top of the clean racing. Fun game but i havne't even touched the high powered cars yet. Heck even the mid poweed cars.

ooooooooohh boy. level 10 corvette c5, bmw M3 GTR, NISMO R34 s tune.... soooooo fun to drive.

ive been grinning from ear to ear for the past week.

mmm, have to admit, after playing EPR for a few days, I am starting to enjoy it, a lot :D . Don't know if I am going to buy it (rented the game). I only have GT4, and GTR. Having too many games is difficult to choose which to play and I want to concentrate more on GTR but can't if I am going to buy more games :indiff:

Very much so; it's as if they made the driving "dramatic" somehow. 👍

THhe DFP is downright anemic with this game. 900 degrees and little to no force feedback feels kinda... limp. The older DF works much better with this game than the Pro, IMO. There's light feedback and 210 degrees (or however much the original DF has) is much easier to throw back and forth.

The odds system keeps it interesting, but it can be hella frustrating. Fighting tooth and nail for a win against a car that's twice as fast/powerful as yours only to receive a "no car rewarded" in the subsequent raffle... :banghead:

Or even worse, to win a car and have it be the one car in the field that had no business even being in the race (or any other race for that matter) to begin with. The absolute slowest, least desirable car available. Like, you've got the Skyline S-Tune available and some crapbox... 2 banger, and you win the 2-banger. Arrrrrgh!!!! 🤬

hhahahaha. shut yer trap. IT IS DRAMATIC! didn't you see the intro?!

anyway, I like the feedback from the wheel much better than GT4's feedback. just set it on the highest setting in the options and away you go.

and the car raffles are the worst part of the game. the idea is fine, but the "no prize car for you loser!" bit PISSES ME OFF.

True, The RTurbo was all but mine, The 6th seed car but i ogt the no prize. I like that you dont have to finish first to when a more powerful car. 3rd will get you that car. I was a high as 44th but my Vitz turbo could reall hange so i dropped to 660 within 3 races and 2 car changes.
