Ha, that's hilarious. Good an PD for keeping it in their and not doing some bull**** censorhip. I think it's very, very classy and respectful of them.

Read somewhere that there is a "EPR code"??? To unlowk 100.00.000 credits??
:boggled:
Up, Up, down, down, left, right, left , right, B, A, start

Don't understand??? Ans What is or where can I find B and A??
 Thats the code for Contra back in the old days of PS2. Those of us that plugged that in will NEVER forget that code.

Am I the only person who reeeeeeally enjoys the intro to Enthusia?

There's no customization, and the game is actually really quirky, but I'm really enjoying it. It's almost as if Konami tried to inject some "drama" into the racing genre; not through characters like in R4 or Pro Race Driver, but through the cars and the way they control. I find the entire game very interesting...

And the Visual Gravity System the created is really great. The tire traction readout and gravity ball are actually helpful, and the "frame" around the screen is actually very cool. Someone's gonna shoot me for saying this, but I've put more hours into this game than Forza so far...

I'm sure I read that they had a story planned but it got scrapped. The game took 3 years or so, so you can expect features like that got cut.

What do you think of the classic cars in the game?

The intro wasnt bad, it seemed like the peice was someones demo which caught an eye of the executive who just decided to throw it into Enthusia with the common factor only being that there were cars involved.

That would explain the little girl/woman in the intro getting all emotional when the EVO spun out (and everyone knows the the Z would lose spin out before an EVO would...). I though that may have been her father driving...

The classic cars are similar to those in GT4, IMO. More of a novelty. It's cool that they're there, but the producers know you won't drive them much.

I think there are some things that the GT series could use in this game that would benefit it. I like EPR's Gball layout with the traction meters better than our Gbar. The physics are so much better but i feel like i'm playing Battle Gear when I drive FRs. While all this is true....EPR has A LOT to learn from GT. ok...back to trying to unlock Dragon Range before next Sunday ;-P

I'm really looking forward to driving the classics actually. Sure the NSX, S15 et al will be my main cars when I unlock them, but I think I'd like taking an old-fashioned motor out for a drive every now and then. Especially with the reasonably good engine sounds.

I totally agree. 👍 The G-ball layout and the tire readouts are ingenious(sp?). The "frame" isn't super informative, but it's a very nicely done effect that actually adds alot to the experience; at least for me. H3ll, GT should rip off all EPR's graphical readout innovations... LOL.

Can you tell me that EPR makes skidmarks on the track? And it seems the cars get dirty aswell. Is that true? Can you go offroad with every car?

Is it easier to drift in this game then GT4?
I read the AI is better then GT4. Why, doesn't it make perfect laps again and again then?

If you could choose Enthusia or GT4 what would you take. (I already have GT4 but I think when I buy EPR I have almost the same). So is it really worth it to buy EPR aswell?

I have been capturing some vids and the latest ones are of the AI specifically, they are smart, they give you good battles and they know you are there unlike the cars in GT4. GT4 does have improved AI you notice it when they are behind you but get on the line or anything and they do their utmost to stay on it including go through you. Enthusia is different, they pick different lines and will go round you, you will get the occassional tap yes but in all fairness it's cause they are being squeezed by you or they see a slight gap they will go for it and tap you out the way but it's not a shunt or anything and makes for some truly great racing. You actually develop a liking and a hating of the AI and applaud them on certain moves like going on the outside and using the extra speed they get out of the turn to take you at the next corner.

Check em out if you want. I must admit I am really enjoying this title more than GT4 but GT4 does offer more elsewhere but as for the racing enthusia is way ahead of the pack in this area. Now all I got to do is wait for Forza and my console collection is complete.

The Ai also uses the hand brake :). I noticed this on a DR race with FF cars. I was shocked becasue it looked like he had no chance at one of the shard turns like he was gonna run right into the rail. but then the tail whips around and he counter steers, that was awsome.

Liquid Lion skid marks are shown, its worth the buy and if you hav the DFP you'll like it even more .

Because that isn't human behaviour. The AI in Enthusia is meant to emulate real driver behaviour, and they make real driver mistakes.

I can't believe they can use the handbrake!

thank you for the replies. I hope they rent the game aswell so Thursday I will rent it and see if I buy it or not. But I do believe the controls/handling is better then GT4.

If you see that video of the comparison with the Mazda MX-5/Miata/Eunos.

I see on many screenshot in the upperright corner some letters. And always there is an other highlighted. E | D | F etc what does that mean?

Excellent videos!!!!!Great job!👍 I agree, The AI is a huge step ahead of the competition. The DFP works great and I admit I havent touched GT4 for almost a week now...If you add the surface texture on the force feedback, more cars+tracks + online, I would have to say I would take Enthusia over GT4 anyday.

I posted this in the thread about the Group C car physics... but I think it is more appropriate here:

I purchased Enthusia yesterday, and after playing for a couple of hours, I can say that I'm pretty disappointed...

The bad:

First of all, Enthusia doesn't look better than GT4. There is virtually no anti-aliasing. The jaggies are comparable to GT2 on the PS1! It's really bad. It also tries to simulate a sense of speed by burring the edge of the screen, increasing this blurred area the faster you go. Not only does this blurring look completely unrealistic, it interferes with gameplay as it also blurs cars which are next to you and going the same speed, which makes it hard to determine the actual position of your competitors (there is no option that I have found to turn this off).

Ethusia doesn't feel better than GT4. The force feedback feels comparable as does most of the physics, but the cars do not pitch or roll at all, at least from the drivers perspective... you feel as if you are on a constant flat plane. This really surprised me after seeing the movies of the RL miata along side the Miata in Enthusia. So, in the replays the car's physics look good, but behind the wheel they are muted because of the lack of pitch and roll, which leaves you feeling disconnected from the car. Like playing an arcade racer. This really hurts Enthusia more than anything IMO and is what will keep me from playing it over GT4.

Tracks... real world tracks are all available in GT4 and the fantasy tracks (the ones available at the start of the game at least) are very arcady. A race track in a cave and a city course with high banked turns and several jumps for example (remember, the cars stay completely flat even when jumping). The only point to point race available at the beginning is the desert race which is kinda cool.

Enthusia is lacking in options. The display options screen for example is just a static screen that you can use to calibrate the brightness and contrast of your TV. So essentially there are no display options at all, very disappointing, espesially the lack of 16:9 support for my widescreen TV.

The good:

Enthusia does sound better. Engine and tire sounds are better than GT4.

Enthusia has some cool features such as docking you points for going off track and hitting other cars and giving you a summary of all mistakes when the race is over. Very helpful for making you a better driver and discouraging bumper cars and bouncing off walls.

Overall, a nice try with some nice features, but the actual racing just isn't as engrossing as GT4 due to the disconnected feeling while driving.

You can turn the blur effect off, it´s called speed effect if I´m not mistaken, look at the options menu. There´s another visual effect you can turn it off too, I think it´s called impact effect. It´s a slow motion effect that happens when you´re going to crash on a wall really hard. Well, at least that what people have said, it never happened to me.

For those who don't like EPR. it's konami's first attempt to create a racing game. I think they did a good job. To some of us, it's never good enough and the majority are more pleased with what they get. Give Konami a break. ;) :)

I still have to play EPR yet but I think it got the good things and easy menus from an arcade game mixed with simulation drive.

I do believe EPR will be faster with bringing out visual damage (in EPR2 or so) then GT5.
If you already see that the cars get dirty, the sound and AI is better, they got full lights working, weather effects, a-->b tracks, etc... in EPR 1 that we will be estonished with EPR2. I'm glad that we can compare GT4 a bit because Forza is a Xbox only game so it is different to compare those games.

Hopefully Namco or an other great developper will come out with a GT4 competitor or clone :) The more the better.

It is a much "cut down" game than GT4.

For instance:

No Endurances
Nowhere near as many cars
Nowhere near as many tracks
Nowhere near as many races
Mediocre washed out graphics

Racing feels "clinical" - I can't say whether the cars handle realistically (to be honest I don't really understand realism claims from any game - its a blooming gamepad and a tv screen at the end of the day), but I can say that the driving is fairly easy. I really don't think the vehicles are any more harder to control than GT4's even without assists.

Very limited as in you can't just race what "you" want to race in the career part of the game. You open up faster races but even then you are forced to race these instead of freedom of slower races purely because of the ranking points situation.

You never get the thrill of saving money to buy a car - in fact the cars are unlocked so "thick and fast" that you sort of just shrug and say "oh another one" - you don't really feel any achievement in unlocking cars.

It's an okay game - but it's no GT4 killer. Realistic or not - It's a Porsche's windscreen wiper rather than a Porsche...lol

Still worth £30.00 though. GT4 just spoils us.

Aipex

I got a pair of glasses and at all the cars of the JPN and PAL version, the screen tilts.
Maybe you should get a pair of glasses too? ;)

I will be getting mine tomorrow, going to exchange my GT4 for it.

Caligula1.., GT4 has more of the same model cars and rehashed models from
GT3 so that a given win.
Endurance against the moron AI in GT4 was just pain, and i havent raced with
a gamepad for years so i dont know how that is.
All serious sim/game racer should have a wheel by now, even the cheepest wheel would enhance the driving in any game...DS is for "Crash Bandicoot".

I´m just looking for something closer to the driving/physics model of RBR and
GT failed at that imo.
Replays of Enthusia looks soo much more lifelike, mobile and less constrained.

Maybe i´ll get really dissapointed tomorrow, but probably no more than spending
90 bucks on GT4...

But then Forza was its first outing too... But then Forza was created by a company directly related wtih Microsoft (like GT4 and Sony)... So they might have an advantage.... But still EPR isn't as (Gameplaywise) extensive as GT4 or Forza...
And I've heard a lot about the graphics... Bad stuff about the graphics mostly...

Can't argue about the physics even if I play the game... The fastest I went on my car is 90mph and thats just on a freeway... No track experience what so ever... I would have no clue of going through a corner at speeds exceeding 40 mph...

Straight from my convo with Event...

VipFREAK [7:20]: OMFG does enthusia suck ass! and I haven't even gotten to the driving part
Turbo 911GTS [7:26 PM]: lol
VipFREAK [7:28 PM]: I think it's worse than NFS:U because they just said oh racing game... well **** who cares about menus and organization when you can just race. :dopey:
Turbo 911GTS [7:28 PM]: lol
VipFREAK [7:28 PM]: nothing make any Fing sense
VipFREAK [7:33 PM]: :dopey: OMFG a forester beat me off the line... I'm in an MR-2
Turbo 911GTS [7:33 PM]: wow
VipFREAK [7:33 PM]: I'm sending this back right now... lol
Turbo 911GTS [7:33 PM]: looll
VipFREAK [7:34 PM]: wow... I thought GT4 physics sucked ass. o_O I'll take GT4 oversteer problem any day now
VipFREAK [7:34 PM]: :dopey:
Turbo 911GTS [7:34 PM]: lol

edit:

Drifters developed this game didn't they? :dopey:

this is the first time I have ever said this but... uh.. next time spend less time modeling cars, more time for the actual game. 👎:dopey:
