I get so angry every time I see a supercar x has horrible understeer, as I know it is just going to be the driver making a mess of the corner.
You don't need to break a little earlier because you are going a little bit quicker, you have to break a lot earlier. Remember doubling your speed quadruples your stopping distance.
What people tend to forget is that despite being hard to drive (and therefore SUCKS! according to a few people), if you compare the time of the Enzo to a ZR1, for example, which have moderate amount of understeer, the times between these two cars are comparable. Provided of course you don't resort to using Racing Soft or any racing tires.
Which brings to the subject of the right tires. Because the Enzo needs the exit lift-off oversteer (or snap oversteer which is a bit of a misnomer when it comes to a car like the Enzo) to counter the initial understeer, you don't put a sticky front tires because that tend to reduce or eliminate the exit lift-off oversteer in most MR cars.
According to the GT5 Stock Tire Calculator, the 1.01g skid pad performance of the Enzo calls for Sport Hard (SH) tires. The actual OEM tires for the Enzo is Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Scuderia. Here's the pic showing the thread of the tires:
