So, I've made my 5,000 post today, decided to do a bit of a write-up.
August 19th is a day all GTPlanet members should hold dear to their hearts. Because it was the day I joined this awesome site I call my internet-home. IIRC, I started lurking the GT4 forums looking for tunes to use because I was too lazy and stupid to create my own apart from adding Nitrous and the top engine mods.
So I decided to sign up. My first post? This facepalm-inducing drivel:
(Hopefully you guys think that I've improved over three-and-a-bit years
)
For some time I stayed in the GT4 section, whoring my posts in the "Guess that Car!" and "Guess That Track!" threads. I posted photos, commented on Race Reports - all like a good little 13-year-old. I kinda stayed in the GT4 section for a long while until I saw the rest of the forum. So I decided to blend in a become one of the 'cool' members. Although that didn't work when I had around 50 posts and the immaturity of a 13-year-old
. I'm surprised I wasn't banned!
Over time my posting style's improved, I spent less and less time in the GT4 sections, and more time in the main Console and Gaming section and the Rumble Strip. I never bothered about the GT5 section since it's the leading causes of insanity (how the mods don't crawl into a corner and assume the foetal position each night, I don't know).
I like to think of the whole Rumble Strip as little bit of sanity tucked away from the madness that is the rest of the forum (and the Infield as the little bit of insanity tucked in the Rumble Strip
). Everyone knows each other and we're all one big family with an aptitude (or ineptitude, whichever way you think about it) for puns and innuendos. I feel like I could see all you guys in the bar one day, strike up a conversation like nobody's business (and then proceed to get felt up by a drunken Danny).
Some highlights I remember during my time as a member include the invasion of the tables in the last FPT, the MLP Resistance Group, the infamous Camry 2.2 thread, and the GTP vs Wham threads.
I don't want to do an "I'd like to mention X" because I feel someone might get left out and then cut their wrist, so I'll just put a bunny rabbit here instead.
So thanks GTP for putting up with me, and all 5,000 of my posts

LOLOL that's too funny.
....When a Gallardo pulls up to you and it's free, you turn it down because it's not in gran turismo.
....When you fake sick to do the 24 hour Nurburgring (close to guilty.. I have Acute Tonsillitis at the time of writing this)
