Just thought I'd point out that whoever posted the description about la Sarthe made a mistake. The passage reads:
This is the legendary track on which the 24h of LeMans is raced. It traces back to the early 1920's when it was used in the French Grand Prix. The track layout today is largly the same as it was in the 1930's aside from the addition of chicanes and modifications to several of the turns. Until 1990, the Mulsanne Straight was an incredibly long stretch of road (several kilometers long!) uninterupted until the hairpin turn onto the backroads. The Straight was not without its perils, however. A couple of recent incidents include the fatal 1986 crash of Jo Gartner and the incidents involving the AMG Mercedes CLK GTR's in which two of them flipped due to aerodynamic problems. Also, it is the site of numerous retirements each year from tyre blow-outs and engine failure.
The cars which flipped were in fact Mercedes-Benz CLRs, NOT CLK-GTRs as incorrectly stated. Just thought I'd point that out. Cheers.
