Errors Posting Messages OR PM's

why is it when ever I post a message now, I get the following error?


"....Sorry! The administrator has specified that users can only post one message every 30 seconds...."


This just started to occur in the last week and I've not done anything to my browser settings or settings within my GTPlanet account?


Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Jordan or one of the other admins has probably set this up to stop people spamming so quickly/easily. Most normal posters will never post multiple times or send multiple PMs in a 30 second period, but a spammer might try to do this.

Are you trying to post multiple times or send multiple PMs in 30 seconds, or are you getting this message in error?
 
That prohibition has always been in place; it's just that most times people don't bump into it. Either you've been making short posts, or is it in error?
 
I think this feature is also to stop people accidentally double posting the same messsage. Like if you hit post twice, or if your browser is being slow, and you think it hasn't responded and it really has. I't stopped me from accidentally posting the same message twce before.
 
Yeah the only time I've run into it is in the convo thread in the evenings.
 
The best thing to do would be to actually sit down with a stopwatch and test this thing out. You can use this thread if you want - just post and try to post again within 30 seconds. If you get the error, wait until a little more than 30 seconds (about 45) and then try posting again. If this keeps occuring long after the 30 seconds has passed, I will look into the issue.
