Ok been getting in an argument with a dude on the PS forums who said this car is nothing but a drag car in GT5. He obviously doesn't have one, is it just me or do any of you that have this see how much the cornering is in GT5? I'm trying to tell this dude that it is one of the best cars in the game ATM and he just won't listen. Am I correct in saying this or is it just my driving style?

Hahah, tell him he is wrong. Pretty sure they don't use drag cars at Pikes Peak.

I was lucky enough to find one yesterday, I think it drives very good, both in corners and excellent acceleration. But it's just so fast it's hard for me to control it, need to practice more! :)

Bought it in the used car dealership for 1,9m.

I own it and while it is indeed a very fast car,i would much rather have a prototype when racing.

I actually splurged on one last night. Really brings back some GT memories. However it does have good handling. I am having a blast with it.

Saw one of these pop up in the dealership last night, couldn't afford it nor was I a high enough level at the time, but I so want one... In GT4 I had one with the gear ratios so close it would top out at about 110mph, and with R3's on it would get there after spinning up the wheels in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. What an absolute beast, can't wait to get my hands on one again.

And oh yeah, it handles, so much downforce it could probably drive upside down... You need to know how to tune the diff and suspension to get the best from it, though, which may be why he believes what he does; he hasn't been to the tuning forums here yet!

Tell him to watch Nobuhiro Tajima at work on Youtube. It's not GT5 but its absoulutely bonkers!

Thanks for the posts guys I know he was being a tool, I challenged him to Trial Mountain run his car vs mine lets see if he shows. I have consistently ran 1:11 and below there with my Escudo so lets see if he shows.

I dont have the car yet tho I remember back in the days (GT3?) where i flew over 2000km/h @ the oval test track..

Ive got a question bout it tho. A friend of me having some problems with it to beat like the wind (the oval one) as it gets beaten hard on the straights, does anyone know if its capable to beat both races in Like The Wind, do you have to play around with the settings too much etc..?

The Escudo has a parachute on the back that ballasts the top speed. So Escudo is not very usable for Like the Wind, where top speed is a must.

No, no its useless for past 300 no matter what you do to it.

Same though as it was an iconic car in previous gts, used to rock so hard.

i have it just because i like to collect all the rare cars but i don't like driving it much

Escudo is my FAV car in the game without no dout. I use it for endurance. 4wd so tires kinda last long depends on your driving style ofc:) U can do amezing lap times on it on roade, dirt, snow its a all around car. It will go from other "normal tuned rally cars" like nothing. It can compare on roade with 908. 787b race cars. Escudo is a car u have to test.
Remeber the orginal settings is for rally. So u have to tune the settings if u use racing soft tires

i love the escudo, but havent found one yet. where did u get yours?

The Escudo is currently on my online dealership. My wish list is one car closer to being fulfilled and looking forward to driving it. :)

My Bob loves it, drives it like he stole it. This car rocks. Right now it is available in the online dealership.

Its very fast on dirt and pretty good on the road it just does not have a very high top speed. Acceleration is good and quick handling. It is a good rally car but because it is so powerful it is sometimes hard to precisely control, my rally times with the escudo are only a second better than my 300 hp 99 Impreza Rally Car.

The car sux! it has lag that can rival the ferrari f40 can't believe i wasted my fake money on this trash, :ouch: it can't even wheelie anymore, for handling there are much better cars out there

its a dirt car i have a few and they are great in rally

good handling, nice acc, but lacks top speed. just a go-cart on crack. fun

Not tried it yet, but remember it was really bad in gt4...

So far my favorite car on the game.
1000 hp plus 800 kg. it has a better power to weight ratio than my stock Minolta! A fantastic buy in my opinion.

2000km/h? It does WARP-speed?

Anyway.. it's a cool car, with the ridiculous wings. Very special driving characteristics; shines on certain tracks, sucks at others.

But it didn't age gracefully. The low-polygon model and the textures really show its GT3 origins

I think the Escudo sucks...and it also looks horrible

love the pikes peak got mine in the online dealership for 2 mill

whats the max horsepower of the escudo with full mods done?
