good one there Dark Elite ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ .
No probs there.

We have two weeks from sunday then??? cool, i can't wait to start kicking some electronic "bytes" (prob only just get in the top ten, but well i can only try ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ )

cheers

I personally hope the Toyota 7 will be just fast enough to be in the LMP class, because if it can be used there, I'm in a class with less differences than the Independent class (I doubt it that the GT40 '69 will be faster than my Toyota 7 :P)

Maybe it's an idea to put an behind my car (and other cars) that are really 100% stock. Except for tires and Oil Change you're not allowed to buy upgrades if you have that behind your car. Is that an idea? Maybe I'll be the only one who will have it, but still, other people can see then that the car is fully stock ;)

Edit: My Ford car number is the same as yours ;p

Edit 2: Hmm, never said what my car numbers would be:
Toyota 7 -> #7 :p
Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II -> #59

I'm taking the Toyota 7 out for a run right now. 800 horsepower, but how does it handle and brake? That remains to be seen

All cars should be stock, by your definition and by rule. Only different tires, oil change, and car wash is allowed.

Sorry about the numbers, give me what # you want

EDIT: I'm thinking about making this a Tuesday-Tuesday 2week series, instead of a Sunday to Sunday 2weeks, so guys can get 2 full weekends to run their race. No worries about rushing to get it in Sunday evening.

Sound Good?

EDIT 2: I tested the Toyota 7. Good handling car, but you will get smoked by modern LMPs on any long straightaway.

The ESES comittee has decided to let you run LMP

huh wait: Does that mean noone is allowed to change one setting or do you mean the people with behind the name? (it can be that you misunderstood me when I said upgrades. I ment the change of settings)

Btw: I already gave the car numbers in the post you quoted ;)

And sorry that I ask so much, I'm just someone who want to have everything clear ;)

Edit: Yes, the Tuesday thing sounds fine, that is better than Sunday

You can do anything to your car but you may NOT buy extra parts for your car EXCEPT for different tires. That should explain what my definition of stock is

I dont know if it is necessary to put a S by your name, but I will if you wish.

Tuesday sound great to me too

Now, shall I create a race thread :dopey: I want to start running hot laps on R5's right now!! In qualifying of course. The due date for race times will be November 14 at Midnight Eastern (New York) standard time.

Race thread created right now so you can start running Qualifying laps and look at the specific race rules? ๐Ÿ‘ or ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Yeah, I would like to have that behind those 2 cars :) (and the numbers as well ;) : 7 for Toyota 7 and 59 for the Ford)

I have send a pm to a user from GTPlanet, maybe he'll be entering as well :)

About your last question: I have 2 thoughts about that:
1: No, because we are going to race from Tuesday to Tuesday (2 weeks)
2: Yes, because if there is something strange in the rules and they are going to be adjusted people have less time to race (doesn't matter to be honest, 2 weeks is more than enough)

If other users don't mind that it will be posted now, I don't mind either.

Earth
edit: Just a warning, the Corvette and Dodge Vipers are underpowered compared to their GT counterparts. So when we go to Lemans and Fuji you will really struggle

I don't mind having less power as I have the vette already tuned in at these tracks from my ALMS series on the Playstation Forums

OK, I get excited sometimes, the race thread won't be created until Tuesday.

I dont need to rush this, I may think of or some user may think of a new rule or something.

Its just that qualifying is so intense, it's like a hot lap time comparison for 2 weeks, and the prize is a good starting position and if you're on the poll 5 extra bonus points.

Its something to keep you interested until the race results are posted. (Writeup in Race report forum)

Hope to see your gtplanet user signup, the more drivers the better

It will be great to see how all this turns out. Can you give me a link for the ALMS series?

Maybe we could have an ESES vs ALMS teams spot race one of these days or something like that ๐Ÿ‘

Earth
I went ahead and put you guys on the Skyline Squadron team in the GT class
Cheers! Now we're no longer just an internal challenge team, we're in the prestigious ESES!

Let me get it all straight, we can change any setting whatsoever so long as the power of the car doesn't change, including rollbars and chassis refresh?

Earth, if you want any help with the leaderboards or anything let me know and I'll sort something for you ๐Ÿ‘ it seems to have become my speciality!

One last thing, my R8 is dying a little bit now so am I allowed to have one car for qualification and another one for racing? I guess not, but so I know :p

The more teams and drivers we get the more prestige ESES gets. We got the President of ALMS (GT4) running in this series, that says alot

You are correct about the settings etc

I don't have any advanced internet skills, so I'm glad you offered to help! Yes, I would like you to help any way you can. PM about what you can do

The rule on using multiple versions of the same car is that it is illegal (check first post). The rule is you must use the EXACT same car the entire season, for both qualifying and the race. I put this rule into effect because if you were allowed to buy multiple Audi R8s it wouldn't be fair to these people:

Bentley Speed 8 - LeMans 24hrs II
Zonda LM - Driving Mission prize car, only won once

And others. Correct me if I'm wrong but the only way to even things out is to make everyone use the exact same car the entire series. Practice with a different car but use the same one for qualifying and the race in all 6 events.

But is it allowed to use 2 memory cards, so I can copy-paste my old save file when the race is over (in order to keep the Toyota 7 and/or the Ford at 0 miles/km) or is that considered illegal as well? It IS the same car then ;) If it's still illegal, I'll transfer some save files from my memory card to the Max Drive (but I'm too lazy to do that ;p)

Btw, isn't it unfair to not allow to do chassis refresh? If someone only enters in the last race, he will have a 'clean' car, while the others all have 'dirty' cars.

Thanks for clearing that up Earth.

Sjenk, I think chassis refresh is allowed? Not sure, what do you say Earth?

DE

lol oh wait, I misread that. Earth said in his first post that it is allowed, but why would using a new (same) car be illegal? The effect is the same right?

because some cars cant be won twice ... the zonda lm race car for instance is one such car. replacing a bentley wouldnt be hard to do since i personally have one with ~100 miles and one zero mile.

but, if whoever had a second memory card, duplicating their zonda wouldnt be problem really.

the reason being, lets say you run all your races with one car and half way through the season you lose 20hp that cant be replaced, but, if i buy a new car for that race ill have that much more hp over you.

i personally im not a fan of not being able to replace your car since qualifing, if you want to keep your car as healthly as possible makes qualifing pointless. just run a lap, submit a time and onto your race. even if you are down 3 seconds, using that power in a longer race makes up for thta slight handicap given to you before the race starts.

earth - ive put a bit more thought into this ... do you want us to run all of the race or would you consider it cheating if we qualifed, saved the replay then reset so that the car is still brand new? then repeated the same thing after the race?

even so, theres no point in finishing the race ingame since itd just put harmfull miles on the car.

The ESES committee has decided to allow participants to use multiple versions of the same car throughout the season.

After the race just save your replay, and turn off the PS2, same thing with qualifying. Or make backup cars on another memory card

Are you going to signup [empty_space]?

Ah nice Earth thanks :) I don't want to 'ruin' my Toyota 7, but I would love it to drive with it. So this is the best solution :)

Good call Earth, that seems the best all round. I don't want to wear out my Audi, so I cannot buy a new one but I can copy the save game so that I have another ~800mi R8? Cool. I've been testing on Laguna with both my cars, so if you see a 'fast' time from me very quickly don't be alarmed :p

DE

Gonna start with qualifying soon, I'm wondering how many seconds the 7 will be off pace at Laguna Seca. It doesn't have straights that are too long which will make the difference between me and the real LMP's smaller than on the other tracks (I hope ;p)

For clarification...before I sign up....what happens if during one of these races, "I" don't actually win the race?

I'm assuming that regardless of how each one of us does in our own races, that the 'winner' of a given enduro is in fact
the driver who completes the most laps in the allotted time? Is this correct?

Thanks!

SimRaceDriver

SimRaceDriver, I presume you mean if you don't win against the AI cars? You won't finish any of the races, the time will run out first, so not to worry.

Earth, where's the Race One thread?

DE

last major rule updates

- Suzuka, and Fuji endurance races will only be 2 hours long.

- Lemans and Nurburgring races will only be 3 hours long.

- Nissan GTRLM and BMW Mclaren F1 weight penalties reduced by 25lbs

Dark Elite I just got off of work its 4pm eastcoast (newyork) time right now. I know in Europe you guys are 6 hours ahead so don't worry about anything I'm still here.

Simracedriver Dark Elite answered your question

Now I will create the race thread... ๐Ÿ‘

It seems that the race thread started. Can I still join?
Gt4freak32492
Nissan GTR Concept LM #84- Skyline Squadron
Playstation Pescarolo C60 #6- Pescarolo Sport

Thanks ๐Ÿ‘

Signups are open until the season ends so anybody can join at anytime

So, for further clarification, in order to obtain points in this series, you MUST win your own race against the AI right? I mean, what if in the first enduro race, I take 2nd place..then what?

NOTE: Though from further reading, it looks like that type of an out come doesn't matter as it's still based on the # of laps "I" completed in the alotted time allowed...So..what the heck..I love enduros anyway...sign me up under the GT class in the #32 Vette C5R! :D

Peace-

SimRaceDriver:

You are correct in your note except you need to record what the total time says when the allowed time is up in case alot of drivers complete the same # of laps

Thanks for signing up ๐Ÿ‘

I'd love to join. I'd use the Viper GTS-R Team Oreca. It's been a favorite car of mine since GT2.

However...my PS2 is currently broken. I don't know if it's possible to repair, but I plan on finding out next week. This week I've got an AFJROTC drill team competition so I won't have much time to be digging about my PS2.

Ah... GT4Freak I'm afraid to say that because of your unexplained inactivity in the Skyline Squadron, you are no longer an official team member. The team is now full, with six members including myself, and as you didn't post in the Skyline Squadron GTP Thread after I gave out a warning about inactivity, I assumed your commitment had waned... If this is not the case then I'm sorry, but you're currently not in the Skyline Squadron. It might clear things a bit if you entered in Team Nissan instead...

Ah Earth, I'm glad you reduced the 4hr races to three hours ๐Ÿ‘ I was going to suggest that but in the end I didn't need to!
