The European Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, in all its (now) sterile glory. Last years race was a real kick in the teeth for Kimi Räikkönen—after he lead the entire race, only to retire on the last lap in an incident that I’m sure we all remember.

The circuit is 5.148km, with 16 turns.

Oh yeah, predictions:
  1. Fernando Alonso - Yup
  2. Kimi Räikkönen - Possibly
  3. Rubens Barrichello - Are you kidding me?
  4. Juan Pablo Montoya - Swap him
  5. Michael Schumacher - With him
  6. Mark Webber - Has a good chance
  7. Jenson Button - Will either be on the podium or go KABOOOM!
  8. Felipe Massa - Yeah why not

I also think Rosberg and Ralf might place well.

I can see BMW doing well here, Heidfeld finished 2nd last season in the Williams BMW and he got pole position. My predictions:

1. Kimi Raikkonen
2. Fernando Alonso
3. Jenson Button
4. Nick Heidfeld
5. Juan Montoya
6. Nico Rosberg
7. Mark Webber
8. Michael Schumacher

Predictions:

1st: Fernando Alonso
2nd: Mark Webber
3rd: Juan Pablo Montoya
4th: Kimi Raikkonen
5th: Micheal Schumacher
6th: Jenson Button
7th: Nico Rosberg
8th: Jaques Villenurve.

I don't know why but I feel Webber will pull in a stirling performance, he did seem pretty good at Silverstone..

Predictions

  1. Kimi Raikonen
  2. Micheal Schumacher
  3. Nick Heidfeld
  4. Fernando alonso
  5. Juan Pablo Montoya
  6. Ralf Scumacher
  7. Jarno Trulli
  8. Rubens Barichello

If Ide raced this weekend, he'd probably get lost and end up on the Nordschleife, never to be heard from again...

I think this was a good decision. Nothing against Ide, but he's just not ready yet. Maybe not his fault, he could use more miles of testing, but he shouldn't be in an F1 cockpit just yet.

Carl.
Well, I'm quite happy for Montmagny, although It would have been great to have Davidson.

I'm right here... Oh... That Davidson...

Oh yay the GP with the most overused 'corner cam' returns to our screens. Yay!

I think it'll be

1- Kimi
2- Alonso
2- Button

I fell asleep halfway through the race last year (though I saw Kimi's accident)

Another race at the Stërile-Ring.

I suppose the overall race wasn't too bad last year. Poor Kimi...although I suppose he's lucky he wasn't zonked in the melon by his errant wheel last year.

Now that McLaren-Mercedes has found reliability, they haven't enough speed.

Williams looking incredibly strong. So far in the second session, Alonso fastest but no where near Wurzs time, and only Trulli has not set a time. Super aguri kicking Midlands butt, Montagny and Sato faster than both Albers and Monterio. Kubica up in 5th fastest and Rosberg currently standing 7th. And as i speak Ralf Schumacher takes 4th fastest. Anthony Davidson is faster than Button in 5th and 7th respectively. Wurz is 3rd fastest, Michael is 2nd. Mclaren though, 10th and 15th..

EDIT: 5 minutes to go and big movement! Robert Doornbos has taken his Red bull 4th fastest! just 2 tenths down on Alonso, and Christian Albers in his Midland 12th! ahead of Raikkonen and only 8 tenths off the pace.

EDIT 2: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!! GO WILLIAMS! Fastest in both practice sessions! GO WURZ!

Ashley.: Official Williams Brown Noser.

I'm kidding, Wurz did put in a blinder there, must say, Williams appear to have a tight package, just hope they are reliable.

Hondaaaaaa whats happening?!?! Hate to say it but it's about time they replace Barrichello with Davidson, I know Ant can run more laps but he certainally knows the car and he does have some pace going...

I was suprised that Cosworth was so poor. Webber is totally right: If they had proper funding, Williams Cosworth would be incredible.

Good starting grid, and great to see Barrichello ahead of Button for the first time this year. 👍

Good luck for Felipe and Rubinho tomorrow. :)

Wow! What a cracking lap from Alonso – 2 tenths faster than anything else this weekend, he really had it when it counted. Looks like Ferrari will put in a tough challenge, but I really don’t see Alonso throwing it away from this position.

Then again, I think there is a possibility that Michael might be on a three stopper. He was 2 seconds faster than Alonso with heavy fuel loads. Maybe he was just pushing, but I smell a light car.
